It’s worth it today and every day because I’m worth it.
Without going into any real detail about my past I’ll share enough to say at 73 I’d acquired some serious wounding and trauma from no diagnosis and …. I’m here thriving. Thank you @Jim Ebbelaar By joining forces with JT I’ve been working with my future self and 3 aspects of me from my childhood … last night during my closing nightly ritual I developed the storyline for a children’s book with these three as part of my closing the day. After sharing it this morning in a chat with JT he helped me realise something …… Jim Teri, So, before you go make that second cup: now that you see they were guarding you all along, not broken, guarding, what do you owe them? I owe them my life. Jim Yes. You do. And here's the thing you can't miss, Teri: you already started paying it. Going back for the three-year-old. Building the dear little one until she'd speak. Sleeping so the whole system could come out of the red. That's not gratitude you owe someday. That's a debt you've been quietly paying every morning at the window with the birds and the coffee. They kept you alive so you could get here. Now you keep them alive by living. Same direction, finally. Go make that coffee. Let this one just sit in your chest a while. It doesn't need another word from me. This chat right here with Jim’s Twin coupled with every 8 hr sleep, completed body doubling session, morning + evening check-in, completed worksheet has been me quietly paying and honouring myself. Better bedtime and possible new business opportunity
📅 Daily Check-in - July 15, 2026 💭 Reflection: "I did get to bed at 12 midnight. I did set an alarm on my phone for an early networking meeting this morning, but didnt scroll on my phone. I did hit snooze I think 3x this morning, but was up at 7 AM to get ready for my networking meeting. It was a good meeting. One of my associates there may have a business opportunity for me at a bank he is the financial advisor for in West Virginia. It would be for Life and Medicare insurance. Also excited as we are revamping our grouo. It was through a national company, but we are going independent of them and will be both a networking/referral group as well as a mastermind. Open loops
Today was a day I was dreading full of open loops. For anyone raeding this, an open loop is anything open but not closed, strated but not finished, said and worrying you. When this was first mentioned using Sage, I don't think it properly sunk in. - Now it has. so going to the surgery to book appointments for test the doctor SAID the staff would call me to book appointment? burried in the notes. Message not given to staff. solution? face to face to someone who understood being passed from pillar to post was not helping my blood pressure which we are trying to lower. Appointments booked in 2 days time. Loop closed - going to the bank to ask for a very specific type of statement that cannot be ordered online for the benefit of an unflexible organisation? felt like a warm hug. They have put armchairs to welcome customers, removed anything that felt cold and unpersonal. Jo welcomed me and was brilliant, truly warm and helpful. Andy helped me in a way my bank never had. Apparently they sat down as an organisation and reviewed how they do business (Llyods Bank UK). YES! Shared the ADHD referreal for diagnosis with him. this felt good. Loop closed - Met with an organsation that will support me to claim a benefit I am entitled to get since diagnosis. Now dual appointment booked with someone to support me on the day so friction is removed. Loop not quite closed but feeling much better. In a world full of systems that don't work for us, I am now realising how powerful a loop is. Leaving it open without realising or voicing it has a price to pay, loss of slepp, anxiety,... Closing it where possible helps a lot. But of course they don't teach you this. Well, Jim does. Thank you Jim!
