Paris Corner Mawj Moscow Mule
An alternative to Blue Moon Ginger Dash By Kilian. A very fresh, citrusy, and spicy opening, that blends in to a more green, aromatic and woodsy aroma. The dry down keeps the freshness of the opening, while giving space to ambery and mossy nuances. It woks wonders on the heat, great for casual use, gets compliments, has good protection and longevity. Website official notes: Top notes : Lemon, ginger, and bergamot Heart notes: Herbaceous, cypress, and mint Base notes: Ozonic, ambery, and moss

Match #15
Match #15 in my 40-fragrance tournament features two very different takes on woody fragrances: #12 seed Shaghaf Oud Azraq versus #21 seed Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum. Shaghaf Oud Azraq (2022, by Swiss Arabian) is a powerhouse. Honey, cinnamon, vanilla, oud, and amber create a rich, warm fragrance that projects strongly and lasts for hours. If you're looking for performance, this one absolutely delivers. For cold winter days, it's an excellent choice. Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum (2018, created by Sonia Constant) takes the opposite approach. Vetiver, cedar, ebony wood, blue cedar, amber, and musk come together in a smooth, understated composition that's elegant without trying too hard. It's refined, versatile, and easy to wear in a wide range of situations. There's no question that Shaghaf Oud Azraq wins on projection and longevity. But for me, the honey, cinnamon, and vanilla become just a little too much, limiting when I want to wear it. Bleu Noir may be quieter, but it's the fragrance I'd reach for far more often. That's what matters most, so Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum advances to the next round, while Shaghaf Oud Azraq drops into the loser's bracket.
