SOTD: Soleil Neige edp by Tom Ford 25/07/2026
This started out as a part of Tom Ford’s legendary Private Blend collection, launched in 2016 and crafted by perfumer Antoine Maisondieu. Before being re released in 2025. Where the original Soleil leans into that warm, sun‑baked golden glow, this one is all about that crisp, luminous light of winter sun hitting fresh snow: bright, pristine, and effortlessly elegant. It’s not cold or harsh, it’s clean, refined luxury, blended with that flawless quality you expect from the line, no cheap shortcuts or overdone sweetness. It opens with that crisp, vibrant Bergamot Integrale, sharper, clearer and more defined than standard bergamot, like sunlight cutting through cold air. Right from the start it’s lifted by soft Musk Notes that give it that silky, polished feel straight away, before settling into a delicate, beautiful heart of Orange Blossom and Jasmine Grandiflorum Concrete. These aren’t heavy, heady florals – they’re pale, airy and luminous, fresh but never thin, sitting perfectly without overpowering that bright opening. As it dries down, Benzoin Resinoid wraps everything in a gentle, creamy warmth, balanced perfectly by the earthy, resinous depth of Cistus Labdanum. It never turns heavy or cloying – it holds that signature crisp edge, softening into something rich and comforting but still pristine. Performance is rock solid with 7 hours on skin, and a refined, noticeable projection early on before settling into a lovely, elegant close‑to‑skin trail. It shines in cold weather, but it’s surprisingly brilliant in high heat too – stays fresh, never sours or weighs you down. Classy, versatile, and unmistakably Tom Ford. Despite my recent niche attraction, you just can't go wrong with a Tom Ford. My Rating: 8/10 Scent: 2.5 Longevity: 2.5 Sillage: 2 Y/N: 1

This has been one of my Summer staples this year. So good. To me it smells like fresh clean fallen snow if that makes sense

Match #20
Match #20 in my 40-fragrance tournament features two fragrances I absolutely love: #26 seed Givenchy Gentleman Society against the #7 seed Tom Ford Ombré Leather. Unfortunately, only one can advance in the main bracket. Givenchy Gentleman Society (2023, created by Karine Dubreuil-Sereni, Maïa Lernout, and Fabrice Pellegrin) is my favorite from the Gentleman Society line. I tested my way through the flankers only to end up right back where I started—with the original. The blend of sage, narcissus, vetiver, cedarwood, and vanilla is smooth, woody, and beautifully put together. Then there's Tom Ford Ombré Leather (2018, created by Sonia Constant). Leather is obviously the star, but it's surrounded by cardamom, jasmine sambac, amber, moss, and patchouli in a way that makes the fragrance feel far more sophisticated than simply "a leather scent." I love Gentleman Society, but Ombré Leather is next-level stunning. This is winter in a bottle—or date night personified. Rich, confident, sexy, and distinctive without becoming obnoxiously loud. Gentleman Society deserves better than an early trip to the loser's bracket, but today there's no question. Tom Ford Ombré Leather advances.

Hello All & Happy Independence Day to everyone who’s celebrating!! My wife and I just put new shelving up in our cedar closet and I have started unpacking my collection. Hers is still boxed away 😳😬 It’s been a while since the bottles have been pulled out but am interesting everyone’s ideas on how to maximize the display? I was thinking about plastic stadium type displays so that they could have 2 or three rows of different heights. I’d like to be able to visually see my bottles and still make it easier to grab a bottle I’m interested in. I’m also wondering if alphabetical order makes sense just so I know where to start looking? I have a call into my closet guy to see if we could put drawer slides in the fragrance shelves to also make it easier to see and grab. I’d love to hear all thoughts and suggestions. Thank you all 🙏

Jomashop Issues?
Has anyone else had issues with Jomashop fulfillment? Twice in the last four months I've ordered a bottle that was listed as "Usually Ships in 5-7 Business Days" but then a couple of weeks later, I got an email saying it is actually out of stock and will be another 3-4 weeks. I emailed them about it this time and the customer service person tried to put it on me, saying I ordered it when it was listed as Out of Stock. I know that's not the case, but I'm not making a case out of it. But twice in the past 4 months makes me hesitant to order anything from there again. Let me know if this is common for Jomashop?

I usually don’t order from them anymore unless it says in stock. They do get my orders fulfilled. The last long wait that I had was Rayhaan Noctourno Elixir. Said 5 weeks to ship and it took all of 5 full weeks to be shipped out.
