Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme
Today I’m going back to one of my signature scents for years. The bottle on the picture is actually the last one I bought years ago, I haven’t wear it in years (I need to get a replacement). I definitely miss the 1994 formulation that I remember had more punch and character. This 2012 formulation is a reminiscence of the OG, a modernized “fougère” that seems more subtle but is still a beautiful and alluring citrusy, floral, and spiced delightful scent. However, it’s an already overlooked masterpiece. It’s very easy to wear, great for the heart, gets compliments, with good protection and longevity.

SOTD: Explorer
Hey guys Joe A here with today's scent of the day, Day 279: Explorer by Montblanc. Fragrantica lists Explorer as a 2019 Woody Aromatic fragrance for men, with bergamot, pink pepper, and clary sage up top, Haitian vetiver and leather in the middle, and ambroxan, Akigalawood, Indonesian patchouli leaf, and cacao pod in the base. If you like fresh citrus-woody designer scents with pepper, vetiver, leather, and a clean Aventus-style feel, this one is worth checking out. First sniff: like Aventus got a sensible job, found a coupon code, and still showed up smelling pretty good. Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BZn9G69jMbk
A little Rose for a Hot Summer Day
Taking another one of The Guerlains out for a spin today. Its going to be a scorcher today so I thought I would bring out some floral. This is a bit more Patchouli forward than Rose but you can definitely feel the rose in it. It is a very nice fragrance, gives a nice but not over powering scent trail. It can be a great compliment getter as I have gotten 2 so far today already. As an extrait I am expecting great longevity as I have come to experience this with a lot of the Guerlain extracts and since I typically don't like to respray too often through out the day This house seems to check these boxes. Wishing you all a wonderful long weekend it you're celebrating!

SOTD: Ombré Leather EDP – Tom Ford 02/07/2026
For a long time I honestly thought this was the finest leather fragrance I’d ever smelled and I’ve built up a decent collection of leather scents to measure it against. To me it’s already a modern classic: far smoother, cleaner and less animalic than something like Tuscan Leather, with a refined character that feels like polished black leather rather than raw hide. It’s often described as evoking Wild West vibes, but it wears like something much more sophisticated. Released in 2018 as part of the Tom Ford Private Blend line, it’s the work of perfumer Sonia Constant, crafted as a unisex scent that leans warm and sensual without being heavy. The opening hits with a distinct cardamom spice that gives a fresh, aromatic kick right away, but there’s more going on beneath it; you can already pick up the soft drift of jasmine sambac peeking through early. It doesn’t hang around long though, because the rich black leather accord quickly takes centre stage. This isn’t a flat, one‑dimensional note; it evolves on your skin, and that jasmine stays woven in beautifully, adding a creamy floral counterpoint that stops the leather from becoming too rugged or overly masculine. As it settles into the drydown, amber, moss and patchouli emerge to ground it, earthy, warm and deep, giving the scent real backbone and helping it hold its shape for hours without turning harsh. Performance lives up to the price tag easily: I get 7 hours on skin, though I do get periods of nose blindness where it seems to vanish, only for it to pop back clearly a little later, like my receptors just needed a reset. Projection is strong enough to create a comfortable, noticeable scent bubble, but never loud or suffocating; it stays present without filling a whole room. Direct comparisons: it beats Memo Paris leather offerings for smoothness and wearability, and while the Escent clone gets close on the opening, it lacks that deep amber‑moss depth and feels thinner in the drydown. Tuscan Leather is bigger and bolder but more raw; Ombré Leather is more refined and versatile. It’s going to take something special to knock this off my list. What’s your go‑to leather scent?
