Day two of my daughters’ cheer comp in Lexington. Day one was great as both girls hit zero and my youngest daughter’s team got the highest score they had all year! Only brought one fragrance with me for the weekend because it’s the only one I need for this weather!

I got this as a sample last week and with an 80 degree day figured why not try it. Y Iced Cologne by Yves Saint Laurent is an Aromatic Fougere fragrance for men. This is a new fragrance. Y Iced Cologne was launched in 2025. The nose behind this fragrance is Dominique Ropion. Top notes are Mint and Ice; middle notes are Mint, Mint Tea and Blue Sage; base notes are Patchouli and Ambroxan.

Aesop / Hwyl — change of weather today, cold and snowy but 90’s in the forecast for later this week. Went with a woody/resinous fragrance that fits the cold but hints at spring

This is an easy to wear fragrance. Best way to describe it is ADG EDT with a touch of blueberry more lime and no neroli. I got a solid 6.5 hours of longevity with moderate projection of about 2 feet. It’s a good frag for spring.

Continuing with my samples from Creed. This one really catches my attention and may be my favorite of the ones I've sampled so far. Although I get the opening citrus notes, they're not totally obscuring the vetiver and ginger. This fragrance doesn't really have a loud presence. It's much more subtle and refined, which I like. If I still worked outside the house, this would be a really good office choice. I still don't know if I can justify Creed's pricing, especially for something that doesn't seem to last particularly long, but this one at least remains in the running for a potential acquisition. Has anyone tested this one and the new Wild Vetiver? The notes suggest the new one is even more green and less citrus. Curious how it compares to the original.
