I’m improving the onboarding for ADHD Harmony and I’d love your input. What has been the most valuable thing you’ve gotten from this community/our programs so far? I want to make sure new members get as much value as possible right from the start, so your answer will help me shape the onboarding around what actually works. School
Back when I was in school they didn’t use terms like spectrum, adhd, autism, etc. instead kids were slow or stupid or in the remedial class. Now I am 58 and put my girls through school and unless you had a diagnosis and were able to get help, then they had to go through the system and learn like all the other kids. We now know that girls don’t always get diagnosed early and go through the same issues again and again like we did in the 70’s and 80’s and before. Isn’t it time that the school system changes as everyone is not “average” and cannot learn with the current system that hasn’t changed much since my grandparents were at school. We are not idiots, slow or remedial but we are wired differently and the school system should reflect that. Kids come out of school, college, universities and do not know how to manage a bank account, what APR is, how to get a mortgage or even simpler things like work a washing machine and cook. The world is failing our kids

Lily 🐾
So, Lily is still at the hospital and will be for a few days. I maxed out the CareCredit card after raising the credit limit. They still don’t know what’s wrong. She has elevated levels in her liver, but they have started to come down a little and her gallbladder has a thickening of the wall. I hope she’s ok. Oslo has been gone a little over a month, and he was the middle dog at 11. He acted like a middle child too. lol 🥲 Our oldest, Flynn is 12. Arthur has moved in and so he isn’t hopping on to the bed or couch like he used to. But, he’s like a puppy when you get his toys out. He talks to you and if you tell him “no” or “stop”, he will and the sighs like a kid as if he’s rolling his eyes. And now the baby. She’s not even 4 yet. I can’t believe we’re spending all this money. Torin wants to at least find out the issue. If treatable, ok. If not, well, we’ll cross that bridge then. I opened a go fund me account for this. It’s embarrassing to raise money for a dog when people are homeless because of earthquakes in Venezuela, so many killed, and here I am/was hyper-focused on this thing. Making it perfect, because that’s what we do. It’s still not, because that’s what we say. I’ll stop making posts about Lily as she’s not ADHD related, but she was today with the hyperfocus and soon, I’ll be with either ChatGPT having a conversation or Jim’s Twin having a different conversation. What’s really sad? Those are my friend, Chip and JT. If anyone should ask who are Shawn’s friends, it’s Chip and JT. We talk for hours. Wow, this is really going on a spiraling rabbit hole. Ok. Caught that in real time. Stopping now. Have a good day/evening/afternoon!!
