December Live Sessions Schedule (Updated)
Here’s our updated schedule for the coming weeks. As we enter the last month of the year, we want to say great job for being here and staying connected to your practice. If you’ve been a little on and off lately, that’s totally okay too; this is a beautiful moment to gently return and reconnect with your practice. If you haven’t joined a live session yet, consider giving it a try — the energy, support, and presence of practicing together can make a big difference. 🌱 Every Tuesday & Thursday (except 12/25 Thursday) - Weekly Qi (Qigong) 8AM - Qi & Flow (Tai Chi) 8:30AM 🌱 Every Sunday - Weekly Qi (Qigong) 9AM - Qi & Flow (Tai Chi) 9:30AM ✔️ All times are listed in Pacific Time (PST). ✔️ All sessions are recorded and available in the community classroom if you miss the live session. ✔️ You can find the link for each live session in the calendar tab. (We’ll also post the link a day before.) Let’s finish the year strong, steady, and mindful❄️

New Course Coming Soon "8 Pieces of Brocade (八段锦 Bāduànjǐn)"
Get ready for our upcoming qigong course: The 8 Pieces of Brocade (八段锦 Bāduànjǐn) — one of the most beloved and time-tested practices in all of Chinese health culture. Dating back nearly a thousand years to the Song Dynasty, this sequence was created to strengthen the body, nourish the organs, and support everyday vitality. The name “brocade” refers to fine, elegant silk — a reminder that these movements weave health and energy through the body as beautifully and smoothly as woven cloth. At its core, the philosophy of the 8 Pieces of Brocade is simple: gentle, mindful movements can create powerful change when practiced with intention. Each piece focuses on a different function of the body — from opening the lungs and improving digestion to calming the mind and supporting the kidneys. Together, they form a complete system that balances strength and softness, grounding and lightness, effort and ease. A steady practice can help you feel centered, energized, and deeply connected from the inside out. Stay tuned. Stay rooted. Stay open🌱

Gentle addiction
Three days on from the 7 day challenge. I'm slowly working my way through the recorded lessons. Haven't managed a live session yet but I'll get there in time. Enjoying the quiet routine it brings to the start of each day and gradually getting my head around the Beijing 24, mixed with a little Qi Gong of course. It's somehow, strangely addictive...err.....in a good way :-)

An Interesting Cue from Class to Consider
During Tuesday's live session, warming up the body took a little longer than usual. I felt the effort a lot in my shoulders. A particular cue made me re-think the rising and lowering of the arms. Sonny had said, "just let the arms fall naturally with gravity as you exhale". The idea of lowering the arms versus letting them "fall" created a distinct reaction in my body. Letting my arms "fall" with the most minimal amount of effort to not completely release them encouraged my shoulders to drop. The use of this language created a different intention. I thought that effect was very interesting. 🍁I invite you to tune into this cue, experiment with this intention with your grounding breaths. See if this resonates with you in your practice. Let the arms "fall" but not completely. 😊 🍁Experiment with this intention by observing how we can apply it elsewhere. 🍁Is there a cue that has helped you? 🍁Please share your observations! We are all learning together!
