(Please Read) Live Session Classroom Update
Hi everyone! One of our core missions is to provide an online practice space where you can learn Tai Chi and Qigong in an efficient and effective way. We’re always looking for ways to optimize your experience and make your practice more organized and intentional. With that in mind, we’ve restructured the Weekly Live Session Classroom. Old Format 👉 Live sessions were organized by month only. (Hard to navigate which classes included which practices, and it could feel overwhelming) NEW Format 👉 You will still see this month’s live sessions (and the previous month’s) listed as usual. 👉 After two months, all live sessions will be reorganized into CATEGORIZED practice series. What this means... for example, - If a weekly Qigong session focuses on Elemental Qigong, it will be placed inside the "Elemental Qigong" folder. - If a Qi & Flow session focuses on Tai Chi fundamentals, it will be placed inside the "Tai Chi Fundamentals" folder. Simple as that! No more guessing which class includes what practice! This way, you’ll be able to find exactly what you’re looking for—faster and more easily—without scrolling through months of recordings. Each session will also include a brief summary, so you can quickly understand what was covered and take notes more effectively. We hope this makes your study clearer, more structured, and easier to revisit over time. And as always, if you have any feedback—now or in the future—please feel free to share it. Your voice truly matters to us, and we deeply appreciate your input. Happy practicing, Rooted Alchemy fam!🌱

That's going to be really fantastic. And...is it also possible to mark a session as favorit? That would be absolutely wonderful.

@Jayda Jeon okay, for sure we will find the favorites back ...
Travelling Tai Chi and Teddy bears
Hey Guys, This post clearly isn’t Tai Chi related but as we have become a wonderful community over the last few months, I thought I’d share 😊 I’ve just come back from Thailand watching my son Matt, get married to his beautiful girlfriend of 7 years Bamee (About time he made her an honest woman!) It was a wonderful wedding, exciting, emotional and fun. It mixed cultures seamlessly and people travelled from all over the world to rejoice with the happy couple. There were very many tears and just as many laughs. I was an immensely proud Dad and unusually for the Father of the groom had to give a speech. This I’m happy to say went and afterwards I could relax and make merry. I brought, like a good student, my Qi Gong and Tai Chi with me though. I can recommend incorporating “body circles” with "advancing and retreating" to your dance moves. It works really well if mixed with a little Tango 😊 Once the wedding was over, we all travelled to the paradise island of Koh Lanta for a group holiday. As someone who lives nowhere near the sea, Qi Gong on a stunning Thai beach to start each day was utter bliss. I might have forgotten my stick, but the rest of RA’s training travels very well. PS - The Bear is a long story

An Update on the New Year Challenge Giveaways
Hey guys, just wanted to give you a quick update. First off, congratulations again to everyone who completed the challenge. We’re proud of you. As far as the prizes go, we placed the merch order last week. Our manufacturer is out of the country, so production and shipping to us will take several weeks. Once everything arrives, we’ll need a little time to sort the items and send them out to each individual winner. Because of this timeline, you’ll most likely receive your prizes in early May. We know you’re excited, and trust us, we were just as excited to run this contest. Everything is in motion. It’s just taking a bit longer than we originally expected. You will absolutely receive your prizes and gifts. For the next contest, we’ll make sure the prizes are ready in advance so the turnaround is much faster. Thank you for your patience 🙂

Introducing: Posture Lab
We’re excited to open a new space in our community: Posture Lab — a focused area for refining your form and deepening your understanding of movement. 🔎 What is Posture Lab? Posture Lab is a space where you can share a photo or video of your Tai Chi or Qigong practice if you’d like more intentional guidance from Sonny. Because we practice online and can’t always adjust you in person, this space helps bridge that gap. Small adjustments can often create profound changes in how the body feels and moves. It’s designed to help you: - Refine alignment - Improve structure and balance - Understand principles more deeply - Connect posture to internal concepts like Song (松, relaxation), rooting, and center ✔️ How to Use It & Maximize Your Practice To get the most out of Posture Lab: - Upload a clear photo or short video (side view, front view, or both — even better!). - You can focus on one movement or posture at a time, or share a full sequence like the Beijing 24 Form. It’s completely up to you — the goal is to support your practice and study. - Share what you’re experiencing or unsure about. After receiving guidance: - Revisit the movement slowly. - Apply one adjustment at a time. - Notice how it changes your sensation, balance, and breathing. 💡 Example You might post a short clip of your Horse Stance and say: “I feel centered, but my thighs burn quickly and my shoulders feel tight.” Feedback might explore: - Knee tracking over the toes - Pelvic position - Shoulder relaxation (Song) - Weight distribution through the feet Often, one small structural shift can reduce strain or discomfort significantly. Posture Lab is a supportive space where you can study your own practice with curiosity and thoughtful exploration. Sharing your practice supports not only your own growth but also helps others learn through observation. This is an intentional space where you can deepen your study of Tai Chi and Qigong online and build a stronger relationship with your body and the way you practice.

Great!! This will be very helpful. Thank you. 🙏 By the way, that will probably involve a lot of fumbling and fun during the recording. 😅
