Why do energy levels drop after iftari?
Many people feel sleepy, heavy, or low on energy after Iftar. The reason? 👉 Overeating fried & sugary foods 👉 Large portion sizes after long fasting hours 👉 Sudden blood sugar spike & crash As a Dietitian & Coach, I always recommend: ✔️ Start with water + dates ✔️ Add protein (eggs, chicken, yogurt, lentils) ✔️ Keep fried food minimal ✔️ Include fiber (salad, fruits, whole grains) This helps maintain stable blood sugar and better energy levels. 🏃‍♀️ What about exercise? Light walk 20–30 minutes after Iftar or strength training 1–1.5 hours later works best. Avoid intense workouts immediately after heavy meals. Remember: It’s not just about fasting, it’s about fueling smartly. Tell me in the comments 👇 Do you feel energetic or sleepy after Iftar? What does your Iftar plate look like? 🍽️
