SOTD - Bvlgari Man Wood Essence
Well, the early summer-like weather is gone and its back into the 50's so I'm giving a full days wear to a fragrance that came from Rescented a few days ago. This one for some reason really intrigued me. A combination of the notes and the presentation. I really think the bottle is great looking. First thing I found out about this one is the sprayer is like a water pistol. You have to press it down fully to get it to mist, otherwise it shoots out in a stream. As far as the smell, it starts off citrusy and a little sweet in the opening which fades fairly fast (typical citrus) into its main woodsiness (hence the name). However, it is a fairly subtle woodsiness. The sweetness stays from the opening and mixes with the woods. For a fragrance called wood essence it's got a hint of it, it's not out front. The woods recede even further in the dry down and it gets this musky/woodsy mix. I actually really like the smell, it's a little more mature but not too. It's safe for every season except hot summer days. I've read reviews on it's a mass-appealing boring designer but I don't feel that at all. The only issue I have is the performance. Projection is barely moderate and it fades to a skin scent fairly quickly. I really like this one so next time I'm overspraying this, maybe up to 8 to 10 sprays and see how that works. All in all I like it and it's looks amazing on the shelf.
