Here is another one from the Velvet range by Fragrance World. It's a brighter opening to grande, also an edp, this time taking inspiration from Accento Viola. It's said to have been released to capitalize on the growing demand for purple floral-fruity scents, of that is even a thing? Accent opens with a vibrant, slightly tart opening of juicy pineapple paired with a delicate hyacinth, providing a bright, airy introduction. I'm not a lover of pineapple in fragrances, but this just works. As the initial freshness settles, the heart reveals a rich, powdery transition where velvety iris & jasmine take center stage, this is accented by a subtle, spicy kick of pink pepper. The dry down is deep and long-lasting, leaning into a warm, balsamic base of musk, amber, and vanilla, grounded by the earthy, woody tones of vetiver and patchouli. These notes work in harmony to transform the initial fruity brightness into a creamy, mysterious trail that clings beautifully to the skin. This is another 6+ hr scent but I would pick this over Grande any day. The projection is rather good for a floral, the first 90m are good after which it softens into a noticable scent bubble. Because of its balance of fruitiness and warm resins, it is exceptionally versatile; it shines best during the transition seasons of spring & autumn, though it has enough weight to hold up in winter evenings. It is an ideal choice for semi-formal events My Rating 7/10 Scent 2 Longevity 2 Sillage 2 Y/N 1

My first wear of the full bottle of Ex Nihilo - Blue Talisman! This is such a nice aquatic fragrance, it can lean a bit woody and warm (read Cold weather fragrance), especially if you have the extrait, but the EDP (shown here) is a wonderful spring scent. It opens up with a nice citrusy powder and dries down into a nice fresh aquatic with a hint of wood and floral. Projection is good a good 3-4' and definitely leaves a trail. I have been warned that longevity is a solid 7 hours, but time will tell as I will be running around the city all day. My wife has already complimented me, so I'm winning already!! 😎 Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!

Another day, another Jusbox. This time, it's the rap-themed Night Flow, a fruity leather scent. The first thing you get from this is a strong and punchy raspberry note, which is layered over a black leather that is both vibrant and appealing. Both these aspects remain for the whole duration of the fragrance, and while this can definitely be seen as linear, it's not a negative thing. The presence and warmth of both notes is wonderful. It's also a touch spicy, and there's a floral freshness in there somewhere, but the leather and the berry do the majority of the heavy lifting. It also lasts and ungodly time, on my skin at least. It was still projecting strong at twelve hours, and I'm enjoying its afterglow now at sixteen. As for rap... I can stomach quite a range of this genre. I usually like the angrier output, but the "party at the club" vibe in this playlist does fit with the flow of the scent. Approved! I would rate this as a strong MAYBE in the Buy A Bottle ranking. I need to seriously curate a leather list, and make some decisions. Four more left in the set, plus the new fragrance to try. I'll be taking a break again for the weekend at least, as if I'm honest I feel like I’m just screaming into a crisp packet at this point. 😄
