SOTE - Imperium by Electimuss
Believe it or not, I actually uploaded my frag collection to my Amazon Alexa (via Word doc) and I have been carrying on conversions with that thing for about 45 minutes. We discussed this fragrance and that fragrance and I got a number of recommendations for tonight. I finally settled on Imperium by Electimuss. This is part of that 20 decant discovery set that I bought last week for $73. To summarize, this is turning out to be a perfect selection for the night and I'm starting to believe (after two samplings so far) that the (UK) House of Electimuss is on to something. They seem to use good ingredients, the blendings are QUITE good, and the prices for the overall quality is very good! Now, about Imperium; This is an aromatic, citrus, and amber fragrance. I would say that the opening is bright, and even a bit sparkling with a blend of bergamot and coriander. The bergamot provides a fresh, slightly green, and bitter-sweet citrus, and the coriander adds a peppery, and spicy warmth. The middle is a fresh and a somewhat spicy floral blend. There are plenty of floral notes; rose, lily, saffron, jasmine, neroli (one of my favorites), and tuberose. This is blended very well to give you a very well balanced frag. The final dry-down is smooth, warm, with a wonderful vanilla-amber base. You should be able to pick up the vanilla, amber, musk, maybe a little oud, and patchouli. The vanilla really gives it a creamy and elegant richness. I've read reviews by some comparing to Aventus. I get where they're coming from, but they're wrong. And from what I've read, I'm expecting the performance to be above-average, maybe 8-10 hours. This is definitely unisex (because of all the florals) but to me it's leaning slightly masculine. At around $160 at fragrancenet it's a solid buy, but I need to do more research on the entire Electimuss line, and see my other options before I pull the trigger on this one. I'm not far off from fragrantica's rating. I'll give it a: 8.25 / 10.00
