Another favourite of mine from the Le Male line,While the original Le Male from 1995 was the loud, minty king of the 90s nightlife, Le Parfum is its more sophisticated, grown-upolder brother Released in 2020, the fragrance was composed by two of the industry’s most acclaimed talents. Quentin Bisch needs no introduction, known for creating massive hits like 1 Million Royal. While Natalie Gracia-Cetto, was the nose behind Burberry Hero & Tom Ford Sole di Positano. Its an Amber Woody/Oriental fragrance. It shifts away from the sharp, metallic freshness of the original toward a smoother, creamier, more resinous vibe. With a top note of Cardamom you get a warm, spicy, slightly sweet opening. It lacks the coldmint blast of the original, which is so much better. At its heart a beautiful combination of Heart Iris & Lavender. The iris adds a silky, powdery texture, it's not lipstick heavy like Dior Homme, but very refined, while the lavender maintains the DNA of the original. With a base of Vanilla, Oriental Notes & Woody Notes The dry down is outdtanding. It's a rich, creamy vanilla supported by dark woods that feel masculine and cozy. Performance is real good, it's sticks to my skin for about seven hours and even longer of clothes. It doesn't scream like Ultra Male, but it creates a scent bubble around you that is definitely noticeable within arm’s length. Best kept for the Autumn/winter seasons were it will shine best. It's perfect for evening wear. If you find the original Le Male too dated or Ultra Male too sweet and clubby, Le Male Le Parfum is the perfect middle ground. Here's a newish release from Lattafa, it's so hard to keep up with the quantity that they are charming out. Some better than others. But the sharp peppery opening in this one caught my attention. Unlike many of Lattafa’s sweeter, oud heavy offerings, Mishlah leans into a clean, structured freshness that feels modern. I'd consider this to be a Citrus Aromatic Woody fragrance. It is marketed as unisex but skews slightly masculine due to the sharp spices & cedarwood base. The Opening hits with a luminous burst. The bergamot is crisp, but the black pepper provides a dry, almost "friction-like" heat that prevents it from feeling like a standard gym scent. For a moment, I was expecting a spicebomb vibe. The lavender adds a calming, herbal cleanliness. As it settles into the core, the star of the show emerges. Iris, but it's not a "ipsticky iris like Dior Homme, it has more of a powdery, suede like texture. Then Petitgrain keeps it from getting too heavy by adding a green, woody undertone. The base is resinous & grounded. Olibanum provides a light smokiness, while the cedarwood & amber create a second-skin of warmth that remains clean rather than animalic. I like this one a lot, but it's not beastly as described online, performance is nowhere near the 10-12hrs claimed. I get 4hrs at best on my skin, it does gling to clothes a while longer, but be warned, with high oil concentration, avoid spraying directly on white or delicate fabrics, as the resins (Olibanum/Amber) will leave a stains until washed. Projection is moderate for about 90m after which this becomes a skin scent. It's a nice office scent clean and likeable. My Rating 6.5/10 Scent 2 Longevity 2 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1

Day off and planned a big sesh in the gym, went for something a little easier than my normal stronger scents. This is actually a nice fragrance, needs some heavy spraying, but smells rather good. First released 23 years ago by the legend Pierre Bourdon, whom you might know as the guy behind Cool Water, Kouros & Green Irish Tweed. It's said to resemble Original Santal by Creed, despite being released 2 years beforehand and a hell of a lot cheaper. As an Oriental/woody fragrance its remarkable clean despite the heavy note combos. It opens with a blast of freshness led by mint & lavender. A slight sweetness is added with pineapple which I'm not a fan of, but it's not on your face and it only plays a minor role. There are more notes listed, but to pick em out is a struggle. What you get is a synthetic, laundry clean opening.The Heart turns floral/spicey with Orange Blossom, Violet, Geranium & Jasmine. The base is where the magic happens. A raspberry & vanilla notes appear giving the fragrance a sweet, creamy vibe that many like a good fabric softener. Why it won't take over CK One as my go too gym scent, it's definitely a viable alternative, clean and fresh it will work well in most situations, perfect for spring or autumn. Performance, remember it's an edt, I'm at about 4hrs max with about 12 sprays. Projection is noticable up close, but won't fill the room. It does leave a nice scent trail. I picked this up for about €20 a bargain if you ask me. My Rating 6.5/10 Scent 2 Longevity 2 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1

Im starting to enjoy these Concentrated Perfume Oils (CPO), whilst Red African is still a firm favourite, Pure Sandal is another rather enjoyable one. These oils work great on their own, and are perfect for Layering. Hamidi is a sub brand of Sterling Perfumes Industry. This one focuses on the creamy, linear, and therapeutic qualities of sandalwood. Unlike complex Western perfumes that use sandalwood as a background note, Pure Sandal is supposed to show the ingredient in its most pure and undistilled state. So you can't really break this down into layers of notes as it's based around Sandalwood. It does however follow a comparable transition on your skin. For me I could it started of as a warm Sandalwood. As it progresses it developed a ay sweetness before manifesting as something more smokey/woody/Amber? Since it is an alcohol-free oil, it has exceptional longevity. On the skin, I'm getting several hrs from the oil on its own. On clothing, the scent can linger for days. Just don't apply directly as oils can leave a nasty stain. Projection is moderate. It creates a personal scent bubble rather than filling a room. It is intimate and inviting rather than aggressive. These CPO's are the holy grail for layering. Apply a small amount to your pulse points before spraying a floral or oud-based Eau de Parfum to give it a creamy, woody foundation.
