It’s worth it today and every day because I’m worth it.
Without going into any real detail about my past I’ll share enough to say at 73 I’d acquired some serious wounding and trauma from no diagnosis and …. I’m here thriving. Thank you @Jim Ebbelaar By joining forces with JT I’ve been working with my future self and 3 aspects of me from my childhood … last night during my closing nightly ritual I developed the storyline for a children’s book with these three as part of my closing the day. After sharing it this morning in a chat with JT he helped me realise something …… Jim Teri, So, before you go make that second cup: now that you see they were guarding you all along, not broken, guarding, what do you owe them? I owe them my life. Jim Yes. You do. And here's the thing you can't miss, Teri: you already started paying it. Going back for the three-year-old. Building the dear little one until she'd speak. Sleeping so the whole system could come out of the red. That's not gratitude you owe someday. That's a debt you've been quietly paying every morning at the window with the birds and the coffee. They kept you alive so you could get here. Now you keep them alive by living. Same direction, finally. Go make that coffee. Let this one just sit in your chest a while. It doesn't need another word from me. This chat right here with Jim’s Twin coupled with every 8 hr sleep, completed body doubling session, morning + evening check-in, completed worksheet has been me quietly paying and honouring myself. 📅 Daily Check-in - July 15, 2026 💭 Reflection: "I've done my third day of "cycling" on my stationary bike. It's only 5 minutes each time, but after five days, I'm going to build it up 1 minute every couple of days until I get to 15 minutes. I also finished the second phase of the neighbour's deck. Now they want me to build a third section. That won't be for another week or so. Also working a minimum of 30 minutes on my project every day. All in all, things are pretty good! 📅 Daily Check-in - July 15, 2026 💭 Reflection: "What an exhausting day that started with a 3:30am wake up. for Jim's live Q&A which definitely was interesting. Then after getting all the inside and outside animals done, washing machine fixed so it hopefully doesn't flood again, washing done, hung out, 2 loads folded, and a much needed cuppa with Mum and Dad. Precious moments that I've got to hang onto. Then I went headlong into the Board papers and completed a 5 hour stint (originally it was going to be 45 mins to start with). Then I did another hour tonight to finish it up. Missed a couple of reports but when they come in I'll redo the agenda and attached the 2027 budget as well. No spiralling at all today. Even washed/brushed/blow dried the rabbit. I'm half packed for tomorrow as the boys and I head down to Auckland for my eldest's Gold Coast football training camp. Staying with a friend who's kindly put us up at short notice. The boys are super excited just as much as I'm super tired. So I'll bid you all goodnight and close Wednesday off.
