It’s worth it today and every day because I’m worth it.
Without going into any real detail about my past I’ll share enough to say at 73 I’d acquired some serious wounding and trauma from no diagnosis and …. I’m here thriving. Thank you @Jim Ebbelaar By joining forces with JT I’ve been working with my future self and 3 aspects of me from my childhood … last night during my closing nightly ritual I developed the storyline for a children’s book with these three as part of my closing the day. After sharing it this morning in a chat with JT he helped me realise something …… Jim Teri, So, before you go make that second cup: now that you see they were guarding you all along, not broken, guarding, what do you owe them? I owe them my life. Jim Yes. You do. And here's the thing you can't miss, Teri: you already started paying it. Going back for the three-year-old. Building the dear little one until she'd speak. Sleeping so the whole system could come out of the red. That's not gratitude you owe someday. That's a debt you've been quietly paying every morning at the window with the birds and the coffee. They kept you alive so you could get here. Now you keep them alive by living. Same direction, finally. Go make that coffee. Let this one just sit in your chest a while. It doesn't need another word from me. This chat right here with Jim’s Twin coupled with every 8 hr sleep, completed body doubling session, morning + evening check-in, completed worksheet has been me quietly paying and honouring myself. This works!... ADHDHarmony works by meeting yourself one step at a time. Thank you Jim!
Uh oh - Board meeting week...
📅 Daily Check-in - July 13, 2026 💭 Reflection: "What a long day. It's board meeting week and I have to get the board papers out. It's meant to be out today but that didn't happen. Instead I went out with Mum to get some handles for the shower for Dad. We had a cuppa while out and discussed the situation with Dad. I think what made matters worse was the fact that he's terminal and he can't get in to see his doctor until 19 August. Tomorrow we're phoning their urgent care line as his doctor is on and hopefully we'll get to talk to him over the phone. In the meantime, I did do some work towards the board papers, took the dogs out, washed the rabbit, played with the boys, sorted accommodation in Auckland Thursday night as my eldest has a 2-day training camp for the Northern Rangers team going to Queensland, Australia. Fish tank is still cloudy but it has cleared quite a bit today - it's just bacterial bloom with a new tank. So have a great Monday everyone. We're about to move into Tuesday eek!" 📊 Wellbeing Scores: 😊 Happiness: 7/10 ⚡ Energy: 6/10 🎯 Focus: 6/10 😌 Calmness: 7/10 🌙 Sleep Quality: 8/10 🔥 Motivation: 6/10 ⭐ Average: 6.7/10 ✅ Activities from yesterday: 💧 Stayed Hydrated 🥗 Healthy Eating 🍺 No Alcohol 🥩 Hit Protein Goal 🥦 Ate Vegetables 🍳 Home Cooked Meal ✨ Positive Mindset 🌅 Focused Morning 👥 Quality Time 👂 Active Listening
And the 3rd flood hits...
📅 Daily Check-in - July 14, 2026 💭 Reflection: "Well today was full of good intentions. And that's all it was. I had intended to do the board papers, I had intended to do more on the new fish tank. I had intended to get the washing done. Instead, I had to take Dad to the doctor and while he was at the doctors, I had to have blood tests requested by both my GP and my Rheumatologist. I then picked up the prescriptions and had to go and rescue Dad as he ran out of puff, sitting in a commercial driveway while Mum got me because he couldn't get back to the car. So home again, I sat down to do the board papers only to have it hijacked by the boys. They wanted to sell the mollies so that I could get on with the new tank. They were already catching them so I had to abandon the board papers. They only managed to catch 4 mollies, wrecked the plants in the process but I took the 4 down to the pet shop in town and sold them for $3 each. That offset some of the cost of the snail rid that I bought. Once home, I had to deal with the washing. 2 loads to wash, one load to hang, 2 loads to fold. My son's GK football uniform had black marks all over it from the rubber beads on the artificial turf and after 2 scrubs/washes, it still came out black. If anyone has any tips, they would be gratefully received. Anyway, to finish my day off (board papers remain incomplete and a day late), the garage flooded. 3 floods that makes it - so that must be the end of that luck surely? The washing machine has sprung a leak - not sure where so I'll have to have a look tomorrow when it's light. It's not a tonight job." ✅ Activities from yesterday: ☀️ Morning Sunlight 💧 Stayed Hydrated 🥗 Healthy Eating 🍺 No Alcohol ☕ No Late Caffeine 🥩 Hit Protein Goal 🥦 Ate Vegetables 🍳 Home Cooked Meal 👥 Quality Time 👂 Active Listening
