Since we're at the top of the last month of the year, I wanted to take some time to reflect on how we've grown over the past year. There's always something new to navigate in business, and things we didn't know we didn't know that we need to learn!
My club has stayed small this year, in spite of (or perhaps because of) my efforts to find my lane in the big wide world of wellness coaching. My members have grown more dedicated to the path and to each other, so for that I am grateful. It has given me the ability to explore new avenues that I want to take the club and take my work. I've dabbled in different networks and hubs, some of which were a great fit, and some which were absolutely not. The action keeps guiding me towards clarity.
What has stuck for me after a fast-paced, dynamic, and somewhat unpredictable and difficult 2025:
- Structure, reliability and depth are rare facets in a world of rush, hype and attention-deficit. Not all that glitters is gold - in fact, it's probably a distraction.
- Messaging matters but it's not everything - I've obsessed over my offer, how to communicate its value, at nauseum, over the past year. I've certainly learned a lot. But it's not enough to have a good message - you need to also have an audience that resonates. And that can take time.
- What works for someone else might not work for you. It's worth trying to see if your way works, even if it fails. It's also worth trying to see if someone else's way works, even if it fails. Eventually, you'll get to a level of higher discernment.
I'm taking the rest of 2025 to contemplate how I'm going to integrate more community building and engagement into my business ecosystem. I mentioned wanting to integrate an online movement and mindfulness studio into my offerings as a way to build an audience for my club offerings, and as a way I can add some fun and joy into this world for more people. It's a bit of a big undertaking, so I'm going to give it some consideration but I feel deeply aligned with it and I look forward to seeing what this can do for my business (also if anyone wants to be a beta tester for my online studio let me know 😉)
So - what are your biggest business lessons of 2025? And where do you see you and your club going in 2026?
