A Roadmap for eradicating poverty beyond growth
The 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐩 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡, a major UN-backed initiative co-constructed with UN agencies, civil society, unions, and academic experts who have been collaborating since 2024 to identify proposals that can achieve social progress and wellbeing without relying on perpetual economic growth. Once finalised, the Roadmap will offer a catalogue of concrete policy measures that governments, international agencies, and other stakeholders can implement that place human rights, care, and well-being at the centre of the economy, while respecting planetary boundaries. Roadmap policies fall under five pillars, with democratic planning and governance underpinning them all: 1. Transforming economic systems 2. Labour, care and economic democracy 3. Universal basic services and social protection 4. Ecological justice 5.
