Last night, a very close friend of mine reached out to me needing someone she could trust to vent to about her health challenges. The fact that she felt safe enough to confide in me honestly made me feel gratefulโฆ but also heartbroken. Without getting into details, she is preparing for a very major surgery that will require her to stay in the ICU for 5 days afterward. Hearing the fear, frustration, anger, and the โwhy me?โ emotions in her voice shattered me. At one point, she broke down in tears telling me, โDonโt take your health for granted.โ She shared how sheโs always wanted to visit Hearst Castle when she felt better, but hasnโt had the strength or health to do it. It really put life into perspective for me. The simple things we often overlook like sitting comfortably, walking freely, having the energy to enjoy life are truly blessings. I remember hearing Coach @Darren Liu say during a Townhall that sometimes it takes an illness or major wake-up call for people to finally change their lifestyle. That stayed with me, and last night reminded me how true that is. This is just a reminder to all of us:Take care of your health.Move your body. Nourish yourself.Rest.Spend time with people you love. Do the things you enjoy and stop waiting for the โperfect time.โ Tomorrow is never promised. Please keep my friend in your prayers for the surgeon to have a steady hand during surgery, for peace and strength through recovery, and for her family to have the energy and support to walk through this difficult season with her. โค๏ธ
