Hot Dog Hack: Asian-Style Rice Paper Wrap 🌭🔥
For 4th of July, our family grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, and I wanted to be mindful about cutting back on carbs without feeling like I was missing out. Instead of eating my hot dog on a regular bun, I used rice paper and turned it into an Asian-style hot dog wrap. I added lettuce, tomato, and Hebrew National uncured beef franks, then dipped it in my little sauce combo: ketchup + sriracha. I also paired it with chips because balance, right? 😆 Still enjoyed the BBQ vibes while making a small mindful swap with the bun. So good and honestly such a fun switch-up! You still get the hot dog vibe, but it feels lighter and different in the best way. What I used: - Hebrew National uncured beef frank - Rice paper wrapper (Three Ladies Tapioca Rice Paper) - Lettuce - Tomato - Ketchup + sriracha for dipping - Chips on the side Small hack, big satisfaction. Definitely doing this again! 🌭✨ P.S. Make sure your rice paper says tapioca if you like your rice paper a little chewy and stretchy… IYKYK 😆

@Usra Shah me too. I love spring rolls so I have to be creative. I don’t like hot dog buns so I saw a hack with hamburger protein style with rice paper so I figured I can do with hot dog. I also did have a hamburger patty with rice paper too 😂

@Usra Shah yay let me know how you like it. You can also make steamed shrimp with rice papers too. I’ll make it this week and share with you
Sunday Strength Reflection 💪
This is why we do hard things. Not because every day feels good. Not because we’re always motivated. Not because our body is always fresh. We do hard things because life will make us tired — and fitness teaches us how to keep showing up anyway. Yesterday I took a full recovery day after hiking and Disneyland humbled me. Today I came back for strength, still tired but ready to do the work. And I walked away with 2 new PRs: Dumbbell Glute Bridge — max volume up BB Romanian Deadlift — 135 lbs The lesson: recovery matters, but so does returning to the work. That’s where confidence is built. That’s where discipline grows. That’s where the real transformation happens. 🔥 Have a wonderful Sunday Funday with your family and loved new.

Sunday Wins: The Confidence Rep I Didn’t Know I Was Training For ✨
Today’s win wasn’t only about the workout. It was walking into 24 Hour Fitness wearing my sports bra and leggings with confidence. I’ve shared before that I was slowly getting more comfortable doing this at my sister’s gym, but that gym is different. Sometimes there’s only one person there or barely anyone around. But 24 Hour Fitness? That’s a whole different energy. Tons of people. Mirrors everywhere. Regular gym goers. That old shy version of me would have wanted to cover up, hide, or overthink every angle. But today I walked in differently. Then I bumped into one of the regular gym goers. I greeted her in Vietnamese, and she looked at me for a second and said, “I didn’t recognize you at first. You look different… more lean. Looking good.” I instantly got shy. 😂 But coming from a Vietnamese person, that compliment hit different because we don’t sugarcoat. So when the compliment comes, you know it’s real. It reminded me that confidence is also a muscle. Every time we show up when we’re uncomfortable, we’re doing confidence reps. Every time we stop hiding, we’re doing confidence reps. Every time we allow ourselves to be seen before we feel “perfect,” we’re doing confidence reps. I don’t have the physique I want yet, but I’m learning to love the body I’ve been working hard for right now. Today I realized the gym didn’t change. I did. 💪✨

@Usra Shah thank you. Before I didn’t care for mirrors when I worked out. Now it makes sense because I look at my form to make sure I am doing them correctly. Now that I look in the mirror and see a while different person and version of me

Saturday Share + Safe Weekend Reminder 🎆
Happy Saturday BBB fam! Wishing everyone a safe weekend, especially if you’re playing with fireworks. Please keep all fingers, eyebrows, and fitness goals intact. 😂 Yesterday I spent the day with Patrick and his partner Jennifer at Whiting Ranch in Lake Forest. But before the hike even started, the Mister somehow rolled out of bed, fell onto the floor, and blamed ME because apparently I hogged the bed. I told him he is officially a senior fall risk now. 🤣 The last time we hiked with Patrick and Jennifer, Jennifer almost went down on one of those steep inclines. She did eat breakfast that day, but it wasn’t enough to fuel that kind of hike. So this time, my gut instinct kicked in and I texted her ahead of time asking if she wanted me to make her breakfast. I ended up making his and her cinnamon raisin bagels with strawberry whipped cream cheese because we cannot afford to have any man or woman down under my watch. 😂 My partner didn’t want breakfast, so he had himself a protein shake instead. The hike was definitely a good one: 🥾 Whiting Ranch hike details: Workout time: 2 hours 15 minutes Distance: 4.38 miles Elevation gain: 587 ft That incline was no joke, especially with my legs still feeling sore from my leg workout the day before. But it felt so good to move, breathe, challenge myself, and enjoy time with friends. And because I apparently don’t know how to sit down and rest, after the hike we still kept our promise to our daughter and went to Disneyland. We ended the day with: 🔥 24,816 steps 🔥 9.69 miles It was one of those days that reminded me fitness is not just about the gym. It’s about being able to hike with friends, show up for family, carry your own energy, and still make memories after. Safe weekend everyone! Hydrate, eat before your adventures, and don’t let anyone roll out of bed and blame you. 😂🎆

BCM/ kaya toast and a teh ping please
Hey everyone, Daniel here. If you know me, I’m a bit of a fitness junkie but recently I just felt like it was getting me nowhere. Ultimately I want to get fit for me family and my dream is to hike the NZ mountains when my kid is big enough. My final meal will just be a bowl of comforting Bak Chor Mee (minced pork noodles). And maybe some hot milk tea with kaya toast. Ah. Perfect.
