SOTE - Nudiflorum by Nasomatto
It looks like Alessandro Gualtieri strikes again. I THINK it was brother @Jamal Moore that sent me a sample decant of Nudiflorum (I can't imagine who else would have...) Anyway, let me be very clear about this... This is NOT blind buy safe and it is NOT a crowd-pleaser. In fact you may NEVER, EVER get a compliment when you wear this. That being said, I'm pretty darn sure that Mr. Gualtieri is brilliant and possibly a genius. Again, his work is NOT going to be liked by many people, but nevertheless he IS brilliant. Nobody really knows for sure what ingredients he uses in his frags. He just doesn't want you to know... If you like the frag, what difference does it make, I guess. Anyway, Nudiflorum opens a bit startling. You might first detect a sharp, greenness from the rhubarb (?), which you may find jarring and bitter. Then it gives way to the floral notes, which are apparently referred to as the "nude flowers". These "flowers" are not clean or simple and in fact are quite bold. Some wearers may pick up on rose and a hint of raspberry. This scent is dirty, and an intimate skin musk at its core. The dry down is where the fragrance earns its reputation. The animalic notes combine with a slightly smoky leather, oakmoss and cedar. This creates a powerful, musk-heavy base that can smell like everything from a clean frag to actual body odor or even burnt rubber, depending on the wearer. Longevity? Insane. You count on having this stuff being with you long enough to allow you to claim it as a dependent on your tax return. Go easy on the sprays, gents. I can't rate this guy's stuff. If you're really curious, his 30 ml extraits usually go for around $100 on Jomashop, which IMO is a steal for his works of art. I'm not going to say that you'll like it, but it's definitely art. BTW, I just ordered a full bottle.

"Blue Beast" interlude
I'll tell you what this was one of the fragrance that almost kept me out of the niche market. It was my first higher price bottles when I first started. I remember getting it and spraying it in the air and instantly getting mad that I just spent almost $200 on this disgusting bottle of extreme incense junk so I put it down and never picked it up again. About 8 months went by and my son was asking what's my worst bottle and instantly picked it up and sparyed it in the air and BAM!!! It smelled amazing it smelled exactly how I want it to smell and how all the videos on line explained it i read about fragrance maceration but never paid it any mind. My god it is a real thing and I'm glad I didn't get rid of it because it smells amazing. Amouage Interlude smells like a complex, smoky, spicy, and resinous oriental, often called the "Blue Beast," featuring a dominant smoky incense (frankincense, myrrh) mixed with sweet, honeyed amber, opoponax, and spicy notes like oregano and pimento, drying down to rich leather, oud, and woods, creating a deep, resinous, almost caramelized, and powerful scent for cold weather.
