SOTD- Tuesday January 20th: Dior Homme Parfum 2025
Don’t wear this much, but today seems fitting. Laying my Dad to rest, and this one is as classy as they get.

A very nice choice considering the circumstances. Brett stay strong and be positive. Your dad would want it that way.

Yesterday I wore Precieux 1 as I hadn't used it in over 5 months. This one has a strong projection for me lasting 3+ hours. The opening is a spicy, citrus combination that smells super manly. After that it becomes a heavily woody and somewhat floral scent with the spiciness always present to my nose. Throughout the wear spicy somewhat smoky notes combined with musk are what I pickup on. Lasts easy 10+ hours for me Overall this is now a like not a love for me. The small 55ml size, quirky bottle that easily tips and relatively high price per ml count against it Rating 7.5 out of 10. Today I wore Xerjoff Naxos. Sweet honey mixed with a slight tobacco hint and lavender. Moderate/Strong projection 3+ hours. Noticeable sillage another 5-6 hours. Nice scent bubble for at least 4+ hours. 4 sprays is good more than that it is quite noticeable. Already received 2 compliments today. This can be a signature scent, office wear, or formal/date night fragrance. Smells of high quality and extremely classy. To think my 1st wear experience was disappointing due to predominant lavender/old school feel Rating now a 9.8 out of 10.

@Jeff Beason Thank you. Put on 6 sprays of Naxos and dang is it noticeable. Can easily pick it up in the air.

I went ahead and voted for Xerjoff based on more experience with the brand Have Naxos and sampled 40 Knots and I believe it was Starlight???, all were great if not fantastic off my skin. Amouage have Reflection 45 and it's my favorite spring/summer scent. Unfortunately haven't tried anything else.
Intense Cedrat Boise
I put on Intense Cedrat Boise today, on the back of my hands, wanting to give it a fair shot, especially because of how popular it is in the fragrance community. I’ve heard the hype, read the praise, and seen it recommended everywhere. I really wanted to like it. Right from the opening, it comes off very bold and sharp to my nose. The citrus feels loud and almost abrasive, and while I can tell it’s well-made, it just doesn’t sit comfortably on my skin. As it dries down, the woody and musky notes come through strong, but instead of smoothing out, it stays intense and a bit overwhelming for me. Performance-wise, I can’t knock it. It projects well and lasts a long time, so I completely understand why people love it. It definitely makes a statement, and if you like powerful, assertive fragrances, this one delivers. That said, no matter how much time I give it, it just doesn’t feel like me. It’s not bad by any means—it’s just not my style or my vibe. This is one of those fragrances I respect more than I enjoy wearing. At the end of the day, Intense Cedrat Boise is popular for a reason, but popularity doesn’t always equal personal connection. For me, this one is a pass, and that’s okay. Sometimes a fragrance can be great and still not be for you.

@Elliott Jones Sorry about the experience with Intense Cedrat Boise. I have regular Cedrat Boise and it is one of the few bottles in my collection with a sizeable dent. Have gotten compliments and yes it is smoky, sweet, sharp, and spicy as well. May not be everyone's cup of tea but it ticks several boxes for me.
SOTD: Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Cologne Forte
Newest addition to the collection. This is supposedly a limited release (hoping it’s not). Picked it up from their website at full retail which hurt me deep in my soul lol. Before we get into the notes, this one has several similarities to Renaissance IMO and some differences that make it stand out. In the open you get grapefruit, lemon peel and bergamot. However I definitely am picking up a minty note right when you spray it. It makes the open a nice mint citrus which is awesome. This is where I think it’s similar to renaissance. The open lasts a decent hour before I start to pick up the almond and some cinnamon. The almond isn’t very nutty and slightly sweet. The grapefruit is still there but it’s more subdued now. In the dry down I don’t detect any incense but can smell some vanilla and Vetiver. It’s not an earthy or dirty vetiver more or a clean one. Overall performance was decent with just over 6.5 hours of longevity 5 of which I got some good projection of 1/2 to 1 arms length depending on what I was doing. Moving around definitely caused this one to project better than sitting still. This will be an excellent high heat frag.

@Blake Merl Great review on this fragrance . Based on yours, other reviews, and YouTube videos I pulled the trigger a few minutes ago. I was able to acquire Platine Privee at a reasonable price before it was jacked up to unobtainium. Didn't want to sweat it with the Forte as it seems like a strong freshie and worthy of adding to the collection. Time will tell.

@Blake Merl A couple of dear friends went on vacation to Playa Del Carmen and were able to score it for me at the Cancun Airport. Made a list with Platine Privee and Boss Bottled Pacific. Unfortunately Bottled Pacific was unavailable.
