SOTD: Under the Lemon Trees by Maison Margiela 19/07/2026
Right, this one’s easily one of the most underrated in the whole Replica line, that said, citrus on my skin tends to crash n burn. But while this lasts it is a pleasure to my nose. Launched back in 2018, it’s designed to capture that exact feeling of sitting under a sun‑dappled lemon tree on a warm afternoon. A mix of bright fruit, cool shade, and fresh green all around you. It’s not loud, it doesn’t try to impress anyone, it’s just honest, simple, and exactly what it says on the tin. No fancy tricks, no unnecessary sweetness, just pure, uncomplicated freshness that feels like a breath of fresh air when the temperature climbs. First spray hits you with sharp, zingy lemon zest and bright bergamot, it never gets sour or harsh like some cheap citrus scents. It softens almost straight away into that lovely green heart: fresh mate tea leaves, subtle petitgrain, and that soft, clean hint of cut stems and leaves. It’s crisp, airy, and feels like the breeze moving through the branches. As it settles down fully, the lemon quiets right back, and you’re left with smooth cedar and a touch of light patchouli that grounds everything without weighing it down. It stays green, calm, and refreshing the whole way through, no sticky turn, no heavy sweetness, nothing that’ll feel cloying on hot skin. Performance here still sucks for me. After about 2hrs it's pretty much a faint skin scent. The woody musky drydown does redeem itself somewhat, but its still lacking. It’s perfect for office days, commutes, or just wandering around when it’s warm, it never gets in the way, but it leaves that nice, clean impression. It’s not going to blow you away with crazy complexity, but it doesn’t need to. If you want something that feels like cool shade on a hot day, stays true to its name, and works. I'm not going to rush out to buy this, but eventually I would add it to the collection. My Rating: 5.5/10 Scent: 2 Longevity: 1.5 Sillage: 1 Y/N: 1

SOTD: Eau de Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford 18/07/2027
Burnt up the last of my Beach Walk yesterday and wanted something in a similar tone. After some research I came across Soilel Blanc. First off, this is the lighter, airier take on Tom Ford’s iconic Soleil Blanc line, launched in 2018, and like many of his private blend spin-offs, no single perfumer is officially credited, but it carries all the polish you’d expect. Where the original EDP is rich and indulgent, this was made to capture that quiet luxury of a bright, breezy summer day, sun on skin, soft light, and that clean, expensive warmth that never shouts. It’s built as a fresh citrus-floral, but it’s got that signature Ford refinement that stops it from feeling generic or cheap. Think of this as Beach Walks older sibling. The opening hits you with bright, zesty bergamot and bitter orange, sharp and crisp, it feels like stepping out into morning sunlight. That quickly softens into a gentle heart of ylang-ylang and subtle coconut, but don’t expect the thick tropical sweetness you get in Beach Walk – here it’s light, creamy, and almost powdery, like the scent of high-end sunscreen on warm skin rather than a sugary cocktail. As it dries down, you get soft jasmine, clean amber, and a whisper of musk, smooth, warm, and incredibly well balanced, with none of the heavy resins or vanilla that weigh down so many other warm-weather scents. Performance is solid for an edt. I get 5 hours on skin, with gentle projection for the first couple of hours before it settles into a nice close scent bubble. It’s not a beast by any stretch, but it never turns cloying or stale in heat, which is what matters most. Yes, it’s Tom Ford so you pay for the name and the presentation – but if you want something that feels effortlessly polished, fits every summer occasion, and captures that quiet sunny luxury perfectly, it earns its place. It’s not the loudest or longest-lasting, but it’s easily one of the most elegant warm-weather scents out there. Its exactly what I've been looking for lately
