Greetings from Wyoming! I've been spending some time in southwest Wyoming for work and decided to try a sample of Irish Leather by Memo Paris. After a day of wearing it, I’d like to share my thoughts. Upon first spray, the fragrance opens with a vibrant green note, coupled with a fresh, spiced citrus scent. This opening is definitely bold and should appeal to those who really enjoy green fragrances. It reminded me of freshly cut grass with a hint of citrus lingering in the background. However, after about ten minutes, the citrus fades, and the mid notes introduce a drier, green-vegetable aroma, along with a strong leather accord. This phase evokes an image of a large leather bag filled with dried green foliage. While the scent has a masculine edge, it might be a bit too overpowering for some. It leans towards a classic masculine vibe that might come off as dated, especially for those who favor more modern scents. Fortunately, as the scent evolves, the initial greenness subsides, allowing for some woody notes to emerge, which help to balance the overt greenness and enhance wearability. In terms of performance, the initial green notes are quite pronounced for the first two hours, creating an impressive aroma bubble around me. After that, it settles closer to the skin but remains noticeable for a solid seven hours, which is great if you appreciate a green scent. Overall, Irish Leather isn't quite for me. The sharpness of the green notes and their dominance over the leather are not to my liking. However, if you are a fan of green aromas, this scent is definitely worth trying. Just keep in mind that for many people, this style of fragrance might feel a bit old school, so it could be best to test it first before committing.

So I've smelled a bunch of PDM and Initio fragrances and I've realized that both that PDM and Initio, both have some animalic notes, but none are overpowering and leave a nice, slightly animalic and not super aggressive notes. I think that these are absolutely divine! The castoreum in Absolute Aphrodisiac, the civet in Layton Exclusif and the animals musk in Blessed Baraka just really speak to me. Coming into spring. I think that I'll be leaning on musk therapy quite a bit.

Here is an intriguing and highly popular unisex fragrance that hails from the United Arab Emirates. Released n 2020, it seems to have a cult following for its blend of traditional Middle Eastern notes with contemporary gourmand elements. This is a Gourmand Woody fragrance, A good balance of sweetness with deep, resinous undertones. It opens with an unconventional and addictive burst of ripe grapes & dark chocolate, creating a juicy yet rich sweetness that immediately grabs attention. As the scent transitions into the heart, the initial fruitiness softens to reveal a classic Middle Eastern core of musk and oud. The oud here is smooth and approachable rather than medicinal, providing a sturdy, woody backbone. The dry-down is where the fragrance finds its true warmth, settling into a comforting base of toffee, tobacco, and subtle floral notes. The tobacco adds a sophisticated, slightly smoky edge that prevents the toffee's caramelized sweetness from becoming cloying, resulting in a balanced, velvety finish. In terms of performance, Mousuf is a good, lasting between 6hrs + on the skin, and can remain on clothing for days. The projection is strong during the first two hours, creating a noticeable and inviting scent bubble before settling into a moderate, consistent sillage. Given its warm and sweet profile, it is best suited for the autumn and winter seasons, as the cold air allows the rich chocolate & woody notes to bloom beautifully without being overwhelming. While it can be worn during the day in cooler climates, its a perfect choice for evening wear, date nights, or formal occasions where you want to leave a lasting impression.
