I’m probably gonna sell or trade off my collection to make some room for higher quality stuff. Don’t get me wrong my collection isn’t bad, but a lot of it was risky blind buys and basic designers, and now i’m ready to start replacing it with higher quality, nicer stuff. But what do i get?? This is where i need help. I’m looking at a few different options for now. Here’s the list i’ve compressed. Bleu de Chanel Parfum- i don’t own any bleu de chanel’s, the edt and edp aren’t bad, but if i were to spend the money on one, id get the parfum. I’ve tried it, sampled it, and bought a mini travel decant. It’s a more mature and sophisticated take on the BDC dna. I love it, and it’s pretty versatile for all seasons. Performance is pretty good for a BDC too, and i’ll be willing to pay the hefty price for it. Chanel Egoiste- a buy that could either be really amazing or really stupid. I’ve never sampled or even smelled it before, so it’ll be a complete blind buy. It could be super risky, because i’m aware of how polarizing it is. To some it smells a bit dated or even medicinal and powdery, but i don’t mind older scents. On paper i love the notes, but either a great or stupid buy Atelier de Ors Blue Madeleine- another blind buy, but a great, cozy, gourmand, slightly lactonic scent with tea, cinnamon, bergamot, pink pepper, and vanilla. I do love my tea and vanilla scents, and this is at a good price for a high quality niche scent. Ultra cozy, great smelling DNA, and good reviews. Also a beautiful bottle. and finally BDK Gris Charnel- now i’ve sampled this (the extrait concentration at least) and absolutely love it. Another creamy tea and vanilla combo with some added spice, and great atomizer. I’ve worn it and it projects well on my skin (although it is an extrait), and i plan to buy the edp since it is a bit cheaper. Anyways asking you guys, what should i go with?

I may have hit my first of the buys with this one, on this haul. Perfumer is unkown, but here are the notes Top Notes : Raspberry, Peach, Bergamot, Cardamom, Lemon Middle Notes : Leather, Orris, Papyrus, Patchouli, Thyme Base Notes : Frankincense, Amber, Vanilla, Agarwood, Tobacco, Rose Wood, Sandalwood, Oak Moss On first spray, it really reminded me a brighter take on Tuscan Leather. Leather is not center stage, but one of the lead backup dancers. The peach, raspberry, and citrus are well balanced and smooth. AFter about 15 min it becomes this nice woody, little dirty patchouli and every so slightly sweet base, from the vanilla and amber. I projection is ok, maybe an arm length, longevity is TBD, but not gonna put too much emphasis on it since it is small sample size atomizers which are usually blah. Final thought, I am mostly likely gonna pull the trigger on this one, as I am writing this and keep sniffing it, I am enjoying it more and more, that and I need to be decisive since it is discontinued and they still have some stock left.
