SOYD - Good Morning by Jusbox
This is my continuation of testing the 16-scent Jusbox discovery set. Today itās Good Morning, the classical music inspired citrus-forward freshie. I have a love / hate relationship with Louis Vuitton fragrances. When I started caring about scents, which was surprisingly recently, LV were aspirational. The price point was restrictive, but the smells were top tier. Imagination? The best scent ever, right? I tested a fair few, at my local boutique. And I fell, quite hard, for Afternoon Swim. The orange note at the top was hyper realistic, and as orange is my favourite fruit then a bottle of this was a no brainer. Alas, as with most of their LV line, the performance was lacking. I never expected the fabled Beast Mode, but I did want a little bang for my buck rather than a wet fart for my wonga. I did not buy, but I never quite scratched the orange itch. I pay attention to new orange-forward offerings. And now, happily, Iāve found something that I think will fit that wonderful bill. Say hello, Good Morning. It comes strong with a fabulous orange citrus start, paired with a tang of saltiness that sharpens the edges and prevents any syrupy concerns. Itās bright, itās fun, itās clean⦠and, on my skin, it lasts. Not for a nuclear length, but it was still projecting and performing at four hours plus before it sidled into the mid and endgame. And it was there where I found the developmental intrigue that elevated Good Morning from a cursory nod of acknowledgement to a warm hug from a firm friend. Once the citrus blast fades, which we know and expect from scents in this category, it melts into a smooth floral and almost woody musk that feels refined and elegant and serene. It feels a departure from the original juicy roundhouse kick, but the transition is well handled and blended, and the resultant close coziness is delicious. Such a surprise, but a happy one for sure. Like this fragrance a lot, and itās priced at the cheapest tier of the houseās line. I do own a 7.8ml travel spray of this, but once that goes Iām sure Iāll be saying YES to a full presentation.
