What's your biggest struggle right now?
Hi, I'm Kelly
Hi, my name is Richard Kelly Stifora (I go by Kellly), I’m from Winnipeg, Manitoba, and until I was laid off recently, I worked for 16 years as a college communications instructor, course developer and program manager. I have experience with developing and delivering courses on communications (writing, presenting, professionalism and managing professional relationships, job searching...) and some software. You can ask me questions about anything, really. I'm also a happily married father of two daughters and a dog. From ADHD Harmony, I want a better understanding of myself as I begin to look for a new job and, possibly, career shift. I want to learn how to better navigate my self-doubt and procrastination, and work toward figuring out why accepting a promotion into management at work led to a spiral into depression and getting laid off rather than to success and fulfilment. For fun, I like to spend time with my family, read, watch movies, listen to music (and dabble in playing piano), walk, and travel. Here's my dog, Chewie, in his Christmas collar! He is 5 years old, 50% West Highland Terrier, 50% Chihuahua,100% cantankerous, and we love him:

Just finding my way around
Just got my ADHD Snapshot and one line stopped me cold: what I've been calling "losing interest" or "getting bored" has actually been a freeze response my whole life. Over 40 jobs. A polo ponies business I gave up on. A journalism dream I was talked out of. I always thought I was the one who couldn't stick with things. Turns out my nervous system was protecting me from being told "no, don't do it like that" one more time.
