Hello Facilitators👋 I'm really curious about where everyone is from. I'd love to make this a mega post where we can see how diverse the Facilitator Club community is. Who knows, you might find a lot more people in your area than you thought! Once I have lots of answers on this post, I want to make a nice graph!

@Yuwei Liu welcome to the. group! Did you see the announcement from @David Rovira about the practice sessions?
Our first practice is tomorrow! There are some spots still available, and we need your help getting to a full team: For Saturday 9/30 8:00am in London, we need: - 3 volunteers for expert interviews - 2 coaches, to give light advice on best practices - 1 participant, to gain experience from the client’s perspective - 1 DJ+timekeeper, to keep things fun and on schedule - 1 tech assistant, to help anyone with tech issues For Saturday 9/30 8:00am in Los Angeles, we need: - 2 coaches, to give light advice on best practices - 2 participants, to gain experience from the client’s perspective In this first session we begin to tackle the topic of “Onboarding new employees”, and will continue working with it through the next few weeks, as part of a Design Sprint sequence. This is your last chance to be part of the inaugural practice session kickoff! Join us!! 😆🏁 💫 Here's the official Schedule of Practice Sessions … Save your spot! ⚡✨ Check out the video of our first meeting 👉 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jq9552n4cN8 We’re looking for facilitation coaches… All levels welcome! It’s so inspiring having so many colleagues interested and passionate in pursuit of new skills. After a bunch of practice sessions over the last few weeks, we’re convinced that with a safe space and a supporting team, it’s much easier to feel confident and take the next steps. For those of you already experienced in facilitation, consulting, and public speaking, this is a golden opportunity to take your game to the next level. By helping others practice these essential skills, you become a teacher, a guru, a guide. Isn’t that what we’re all aspiring to be? We need your help coaching these fellow facilitators in their next practice session. They need your knowing feedback, to quickly become aware of where they need to improve, and where they are rocking it. They look up to you, and would love the chance in the near future to co-facilitate your next client engagement. Better make sure they’re ready!

Me too @Hind Bayane !
Yesterday was the BOARD DESIGN CHALLENGE hosted by the NeverDoneBefore 🤓 Beside this great community led by Myriam Hadnes, I found a space where to experiment with our R SPRINT workshop system distribution model in a safe and constructive environment. I learn tons of improvements and found back great fellas from the global community such as @LaYinka Sanni , Inês Veloso A Carriço, Beatriz Lerer and my Butter 🧈 companion, Said Saddouk 🔥 Regarding the board race ? No doubt we all won something in this Miro's chicken run 🥳 You can get the replay and all workshop resources below : 🎥 Video replay 👨🏫 Brainstorm board & resources 🏎️ Race boards @Keith Wasserman @David Newman the replay you were waiting for is here ❤️

@Boris Petrovitch Njegosh ✨👍🏼✨ Thank you so much for this follow up! I am copying the link - and putting it on my "Watch list" !! Many thanks 🙌🏽
Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has experience designing workshops or a design sprint for identifying the most practical AI solution for a client. I'm trying to come up with a good structure for an engaging, one-day workshop – where the client would come in as a team and work together to find pain-points, prioritise and come out with a roadmap to help them implement the solution that would be built by an external AI / ML company. The clients are usually not very technical so I'm thinking there would likely need to be some form of inspiration or educational aspect near the start, in order to help guide their ideas in a realistic direction. Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated !

Hello @Tim Daines , @David Richardson , @Rebecca Courtney @Claus Höfele - thank you all -- this has been a great thread to eavesdrop on! Lots of great nuggets for the uninitiated!
Have any of you used these books? I´m working with them to create a guide for a class on facilitation for sckool teachers. What do you think about them?

Hey everyone. How would I put a process together for an individual? Someone that has a business idea but wants to validate it quickly with users for minimum cost. The person isnt design minded so I am not sure if they can use the design sprint process on their own or if there is a better way. Do they create a landing page as the out put to capture potential new customers or try and create a prototype depending on the product? Any help would be great. Thanks

Hey there @Bryan Guzmán , @Ren Yee Quek , @Forry Forrester and @Robert Zama - really enjoying this thread. ✨
Could you design a 3 hs workshop in only 15’ (without AI obviously) ? 🌶️ This is the spicy question we will try to tackle with Myriam Hadnes (the voice behind🎙️workshops.work) and I on the next NeverDoneBefore experience session. Do you know what's best ? After the 15' chicken run watching me using the R SPRINT workshop system.... It will be your turn to beat me 💪 Want to test me on a Miro's racing ? 🎫 Inscription link : https://www.addevent.co

Alas - I am a 100% newbie! In facilitation design AND miro! … though I love learning new apps - and get a TON from watching people work ✨ Hence: if this goes down - I’ll bring popcorn 🙌🏽

@Boris Petrovitch Njegosh you’re a prince! I’ve started tooling around in Miro - and seems very straightforward. I realize it’s ubiquitous - but is it your go to? - would you say Miro is “project mgmt oriented”? - or just a whiteboard? ✨
Hello community! - I'm sure you've heard the riddle: "...how do you get to Carnegie Hall?..." Well, @David Rovira is scheduling a ROUND 2 of "practice sessions" - for all of us who would benefit from seeing facilitation up on its feet. Contact @David Rovira for availability and where you'd like to plug in. Excited for this! Hope to see you there ✨

I'm facilitating a workshop for startups. It's going to be an LDJ about how to enhance their collaboration. I need ideas for an icebreaking activity and an energizer, as the workshop will take place in the afternoon right after lunch. I want to ensure the participants are engaged and energized throughout the session. Any suggestions for an activity that can help kickstart their energy levels and create a vibrant atmosphere? Your input would be greatly appreciated!

@Hind Bayane Just took a peek at the YouTube playlist - and smiled because I've "played" so many of these games as a theater student & teacher! This was a great thread ✨
Hey Workshoppers, I'm VERY excited about this: As many of you already know, I usually only do coaching inside our high-level paid community "Inner Circle"... BUT today I'm announcing a little experiment: I'm going to run a free, 1 hour, weekly coaching session right here in this community, starting next Tuesday (August 22nd)! 👉 Watch this video if you don't feel like reading! You can join these calls and ask me anything you like about: - Building your facilitation career - Running specific workshops - Getting help with running workshops/troubleshooting - Getting advice on working with clients - Sales and marketing tips - Whatever you like! The first call starts NEXT TUESDAY (August 22nd, 4pm CET) and you can see the full schedule of upcoming calls right here on the Skool Calendar. I'll decide if I'll keep doing these based on how many people show up/ whether you all find them useful! ⚠️ 2 important bits of information: ONE: These calls will be strictly ONE hour long. We'll get through as much as we can in that time. I do a 2-3 hour coaching session every week in our "Inner Circle All-Access" community (these are recorded & transcribed), for those who want to go deeper. We can talk about this in more detail next week if anyone is interested in learning more! TWO: There won't be recordings of these free Q&A sessions. Why? For lots of reasons, but in short: just come hang out live! Hope to see some of you next week, let's go! Cheers, Jonathan

2 more hours! Setting a timer now ✨✨
Hi everyone! Failure can be a powerful teacher. I'd love to hear times you felt you dropped the ball as a facilitator and what you learned from it. I'm asking cause I facilitated a workshop recently and I didn't intervene with a participant when I should have (I think I lost folks after that). Would love to hear areas others have struggled with and how you've improved/overcame.

Hi @Vanessa Lesperance … my experience running workshops is limited to teenagers, but we always started with a “five finger contract”. One value for each finger that we would uphold in the group as a behavioral “norm“. We always had fun with the middle finger, which often ended up being “respect“. If a kid was being unruly, in a playful way (when appropriate!) , will could stick up our middle finger as a reminder and ( 😉) warning ✨

@Vanessa Lesperance oh it sometimes absolutely went sideways! (Usually after lunch😊)… At the very least - you can ID some personality types quickly, and gauge a level of maturity. I would hope with adults we assume a level of maturity. Still - you write em all down, leave them up on a wall - and it’s there as a subtle reminder. ( hehe ) I wonder if corporate folk are amenable to breathing exercises?! 😉
What would you like to practice the most? *** EDIT: New dates coming soon! *** Hi folks! As a new facilitator looking to improve skills, I'd like to invite you to our practice sessions. A group of us has already completed the first dates of the schedule. Add a comment to the calendar linked below, on the date you want to participate. Calendar of Practice Sessions (archived) https://miro.com/app/board/uXjVMrIG2Tw=/ There's only so many spots available, and dates are limited, so get on this quickly. Include your name, and the role you would like to practice. In addition to facilitators, we also need participants, deciders, techs, coaches, and organizers. Share this opportunity, and let's launch this thing! 🚀

Hi @David Rovira - I was just informed about this group by @Hind Bayane - and I'm curious if 9/8 was the last session - or if you're planning to create more? ... I would be happy to assist generating interest here - and/or helping you in any way I can!...was there any chatter here in SKOOL after your sessions?

Hi there! As I noticed that there is interest in the community about this topic, I would love to create a thread dedicated to great resources about Facilitative Leadership. I'll go first: Douglas Ferguson: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMF8WrY6ScY&feature=youtu.be. Who's next?:)

Hello @Alina Balan ✨ I'd love to see this thread happen, as I am new to the community and in full 'sponge' mode 😊. I'll contribute a quick little article from Harvard Business Review about "the new art of TEAMING". Regards!

Many thanks @Alina Balan ✨ Look forward to carving some time to take in the video you shared! Cheers!
Keith here, from Portsmouth NH. Brand new to the group … and SO curious to learn more & meet some folks! … many years ago I used to work as an “outdoor educator” - and ran a ton of “facilitation workshops” with kids aged 10-17. Lots of problem solving games, team building challenges and the like. My office was the woods! After 15+ years in “Arts & Education” - I am shifting gears in the hopes of becoming a 1%-er 🙌🏽.

I am looking forward to creativity, team building and great ideas to come forth. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know, I would love to hear them! Thanks everyone and have an awesome day!

Congrats @Jewell Jones ✨
TL;DR - The amazing @Andra Stefanescu has offered to participate in a (community organized) Q&A session with us and share her experiences of running Design Sprints. Based on the idea that you learn better together, a few Design Sprint newbies from this community got together in the last few weeks to share their insights. (Thanks to @Kumar R @Ren Yee Quek @Abdelrahman Hussien @LaYinka Sanni @Michael Passer for joining the sessions). To help us newbies out, Andra has graciously offered to share her experience. She's run Design Sprints in person, online, one week, two weeks, partial sprints, or summer edition sprints (over 3 months) 😀 I'm so excited to learn from her. Whether you attended the Friday sessions or not - we are now meeting on September 15th for the Q&A with Andra. Join us if you'd like! Here are the details (see also the attached calendar file you can import): Design Sprint Q&A with Andra Stefanescu 15. Sep 2023 at 17:00 to 18:00, CEST Andra's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andracristianastefanescu/ Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85636719114?pwd=NDVKYXErN2tXbGcwNkN1S2E4MkJoQT09 Hope to see you all there!
