I have 18k Subscribers & it feels like a big downside...
I have an odd situation. As mentioned, I have 18k subscribers all thanks to one 1 min video which garnered 17m views over the last 10 years. It was a personal moment of me surprising my wife (so niche there). Since then, I tried uploading videos here and there but never became serious and consistent with it. Now, I have started once again. I have started with a video which has nothing to do with what these subscribers may have subscribed for. For now, I can't help it. I did think of creating a new channel but as that viral video still gets views, it is monetised and so on, I am going with it. Here is the first video that I uploaded today. I would love your honest critique of it. https://youtu.be/4pGVpE6I__s As expected, it has not got the views it should get from a channel with 18k subscribers. But, I am OK to wait. I have started posting some daily community posts to become seen for now. Hopefully, they will wake up to my channel's existence. I aim to create 1 or 2 videos with the "surprise" theme soon which could help. But, it is going to be a long grind. If you have any suggestions for me to consider, I would gobble it up! @Andrew Kirby, what would your genius mind say?

@Griffin A. Hamilton I get it. I see the double edge working against me. As the viral video is still geting good number of views, I thought I can piggy back on that. But, unless the videos are what my audience like, it may not work. On the flipside, a lot of these subscribers are old, they dont even know that I exist. So, whatever I create may not resonate with them. thanks much for your thoughts.

@Griffin A. Hamilton I hate starting from new and trying to avoid it as much as possible. However, it is a good challenge to consider. I will give it a thought. This channel can be tried with only the personal content, assuming that's why they subscribed. And the second channel for whatever new I want to share. I still want to find a way to pivot the current one towards what I want to create. So still exploring that possibility.
First good video
I put a ton of effort into a video, planned it out, edited it, optimized the thumbnail and title, and it got 4 views. (I normally get ~20 views) Why is this? Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Title Could be better - instead of "OUTWORK everyone by being bored" "3 ways to OUTWORK everyone by being bored" Break your video into chapters and let the audience skip around. Your graphics, music etc are good but the video is shot like a vlog and your talking head angle is changing from one scene to another drastically. I have not seen such a style of video in this niche ( but I am not an avid watcher). Finally, your pronunciation was not clear in some spaces, which happened with me too. I realised this only when I generated captions in capcut and saw it getting it badly wrong. So, I ensured that I generated all of it and still got it wrong in few spaces. Ensure, you have your own subtitles.
What was your F.T.E ?
In his book The Millionaire Mindset by MJ Demarco ,He talked about how an event in life can happen at a time causing you so much pain that you decide to change aspects of your life so as never to go through that pain again. This event is termed as F* This Event and is what causes you to completely change your behaviour patterns. For me it was the fact that I had someone sitting with me who owned a sweets shop and had employees working for him and He carried 2 smartphones. Every 10 to 20 minutes or so one of them buzzed with a notification sound of payment received. I was a teacher at that time making just above minimum wage and just then I realized that where I have to teach for a month at same exact time ,same exact location ,without taking too many leaves...This man can go wherever He want., and he still was making money because he had worked and established his business and operations which makes money even in his absence. I have left teaching now. I would love if you can share your F.T.E below 👇 in the comments so that it opens someone's mind without having to experience the event first hand

First video EVER published... Rip it to SHREDS!!
So guys, I'm grateful to be here in the community, and be able to say that I finally published my first ever YouTube video. I produced it DIY from start-to-finish and would love some raw, honest feedback from this community, particularly on the thumbnail, title, hook, and affiliate spot (starting 4:15). Hope you all enjoy! The channel is called Holy Histories, and I'm focusing on the history of lesser known Christian figures and the church as there's a real shortage of quality Christian content on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=koVFMVUdZQ8

1 year results: 4 videos, 820 subs (I'm full time)
I'm averaging 3 months per video. 🙄 Some might think I've got the wrong approach. Fail quickly and adjust right? BUT. Here is the good news! My first video (Steve Jobs) took about 4 months to complete. My latest one (Andrew Tate part 2) took less than 2 months to complete AND it's the best content I've made. Now we will see how my latest performs in the months ahead. But I do think I'm not too far away from learning how to create a 1 million + viral video. Maybe within my next 10 videos (hopefully). But once I hit the jackpot in the algo, the beauty lies in that people will check out my work and find a lot of other high-quality videos which increases the likelihood of a sub/fan. I'm betting that this slow path will compound into a hockey growth effect down the line. I don't know this. But I believe in it. I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
