An odd thing happened this morning. About a month ago I was awarded a fire symbol next to my name for 30 days of consistently performing 10 or more community actions, which include posts and likes. I didn’t have any idea that such a thing existed, and it encouraged me to do more and be more. Just a simple emoji imposed by the app did that. I placed value in it even though it wasn’t inherently meaningful. Apparently I missed the mark yesterday, and as the clock struck midnight the fire disappeared and the fire was recalled. I was amazed at how that irritated me, even though it didn’t represent any tangible value. After quickly regrouping I realized something important, which is to consciously determine what things and goals are valuable rather than to be swayed by tools and trinkets - even when they CAN be used to help. I may have lost the flame next to my name, but I’m still fire. We are Hot Lava Molten Magma, HLM ². Molten Magma for short, which may be one of the phrases that end as part of an equation printed on shirts. FLE❌THEORY = M ². For the rest of my math nerds that are with me, f(❌) = M ².
