I noticed that sometimes, especially when I'm doing it frequently, that my body feels "afraid" to do breath work. Kinda like it doesn't like it when I control the breath and breathe heavy for no physical reason. I love to exercise so it's not the issue with breathing heavy, it seem to the artificialness of the effort.
SO, I first talk to my body and tell it what I'm about to do and ask for it's partnership and then I remind it how good it feels after the session ( and sometimes in the middle of the season).
Then I start slowly and really connect to the sensations in the body as I breathe. I don't force. I go as slow as the body needs me to go. Usually after a couple of mins the fear is gone and the session progresses normally.
I thought I'd share since I never heard anyone else talk about this before. Cheers! 🌬️
