💝 Being able to return to the breath at any time, since it is constantly with us, whether unconscious or conscious, is such a blessing 💝 Second session today, helping me feel resourced when I’ve had little sleep and get to go back to my two toddlers. Day 10.2
Insight
In a world where so may things can subtract or even be neutral, daily breathwork is something that helps me anchor and feel resourced. Day 10.

what was your first real change?
Hey everyone, I just joined this community because I’ve been interested in understanding how the nervous system affects growth. One thing I’ve noticed personally is this: Sometimes you know what you should do to improve your life, but something still holds you back. Almost like your body isn't cooperating with your goals. That’s what made me curious about somatic practices like breathwork and nervous system regulation. Since many of you have more experience here, I wanted to ask: What was the first real change you noticed after practicing somatic work? Did you notice: • Less anxiety? • Better emotional control? • More confidence? • Feeling calmer in stressful situations? I’d really love to learn from people who are already practicing.
I think emotional control is a myth. I think this practice results in a better capacity to acknowledge the emotions and to choose the response. I do notice more confidence in my responding and the ability to remain more in control of how I choose to show up.
Insight
Regulation isn’t only calm or no emotions. It’s being able to thoughtfully respond instead of automatically react. And to show up in my response in the way I chose to. I am so tired of my two littles not listening, tired of them not napping when they should or not eating well. I want them to do what they need, for them to also respond, behave, and learn better. But I don’t control them. I can only influence them. Model what should be, positively encourage the good things. This practice gives me the space to better release my expectations, especially when they aren’t working, and respond from a more compassionate place… even when I am angry and honestly, a little fed up. I know ultimately, this is just a season and it’s okay. Day 9.

Insight
I am enough. I did enough. I can let go. Last night was particularly effective. I was able to clear a tension found in multiple parts of my body, all linking to my nervous system reading, oddly enough, my children’s needs and disobedience as threats. Childhood trauma does some strange things. Plus recent trauma doesn’t help. It’s their job to need. And even when it’s hard, it’s my job to love, provide, and get through this season if that’s where I am at in my nervous system capacity. When choosing how I show up, I picked empower, guide, and support. I felt much more capable of handling their difficulty in getting to sleep. In fact, I ended up falling asleep before finishing this post. The relief and genuine tiredness from naming, processing, and rewiring these things is a beautiful outcome. And I continue to be grateful for this practice. Interested to see what today’s practice will bring. Day 8
