WINNER for "The Scent That Started Your Journey" Challenge đŸ„đŸ„
Gents — this challenge was a blast! These stories have been pure gold. Funny, real, nostalgic, and honestly the kind of posts that make this community what it is. Now
for the winner đŸ„đŸ„đŸ„ 🏆 WINNER: @Lon Chaneyfield Lon took us straight back to 1981 — college in upstate New York, right after the disco/rock era — when he wasn’t exactly Mr. Smooth with the ladies. Then there was his buddy David: not the best-looking guy on campus, but somehow he had this magnetism Lon couldn’t explain. At first, Lon thought it was style — so he upgraded the wardrobe (serious Ferris Bueller vibes 😂). But the “it factor” still wasn’t there. Then came the moment that changed everything: On the way to a keg party, David insisted on running back to the dorm for one thing — a little white bottle. Not a clone. Not a random splash. YSL Kouros. Lon could immediately sense the power of it — bold, animalistic, unforgettable — and then watched David’s magnetism in real time at the party. The next morning, Lon made his move: with his brand-new first credit card, he hopped a bus to JCPenney and bought his first cologne for himself. And from there? The rest is basically 80s history. Lon says Kouros became tied to so many peak memories that even today, he doesn’t really wear it out
but at home? One spray and it’s instant time travel. That’s the power of scent right there. @Lon Chaneyfield — love this story! Everyone else: keep those stories coming in the feed! These are the kind of stories that make this community what it is.

SOTD:  Dark Room by Pictor Parfum  24/01/2026
My first decant of the year, starts of with a rather nice little numberfrom the London based niche house Pictor Parfum, released in 2024. It's actually a spin off of you will from the owner of Memorize London Holly Hutchinson. Not sure who the actual perfumer of this is, but what attracted me too it is the obvious Photography colnnection. Just like Memo Paris & Maison Margeila, this scent is meant to connect you with something by turning a memory onto a scent. In this case it's Imagery & Photography. Scents in the Pictor line are named after photographic terms (e.g., Dark Room, Aperture, Flash) and translate visual art into scent. Dark Room takes its inspiration from the red-lit atmosphere of a photographer’s darkroom, The fragrance is an Extrait de Parfum, meaning it has a high oil concentration, which is immediately evident in its rich, dense texture. It opens up with a contrast of familiarity. Top notes include Raspberry, Leather and Violet, which are all firm favourites of mine. The raspberry opens things up giving a punchy, red atmosphere, but blink and you will miss it. The leather is more of a tamer suede note, think an old vintage camera case. Which whilst noticable plays a supporting role to an amazing cool and powdery Violet. As it settles into the heart, the cedarwood emerges. It gives a dry, structural backbone that keeps the scent from becoming a true gourmand. The transition is seamless, moving from the sweetness of the fruit into a more "shadowy," woody territory. Then we come to the base, where the warmth lives. The amber and vanilla create a creamy, skin-like glow, while the moss adds a touch of damp, earthy realism. It finishes as a sophisticated "dark" fruity-woody scent that extremely pleasing to the nose. I get between 6 to 7 hrs from this on skin, it's blended well and doesn't leave an oily residue on your skin like many of the Arab extraits. It creates a noticeable scent bubble without being room-clearing.. It’s designed for others to catch whiffs as you move around. A perfect fragrance for the cooler months and definitely a great evening wear. if you like Tuscan Leather or Pas Ce Soir, but want something more artistic and less aggressive, this may be for you. I know I'll be trying more from this line.

Widian London
Today, we buried my dad on chilly Louisiana day. So I went back and forth on what to wear for this occasion didnt want to chance taking a fragrance I loved and then risk only associating it with this occasion. What i realized was instead of just throwing something on the occasion deserved my best or one of them. Thanks to our brother @Paul Bartnicki I had never even heard of this one a year ago. Once he started talking about it I started looking and found it at a great price probably 4 months ago. This one fast became a favorite of mine ive seen it compared to Tuscan Leather which i get with the raspberry note with the leather. But saying its similar is one thing this one is so much more refined. I love it. Longevity about 6 hours with good projection then what I'd call a loud skin scent for another 4. Projection was very good especially with the. Wind carrying it off me. I absolutely recommend Widian London especially if your a leather fan
