Good morning! It's another hot day here in Denver, and I decided to take advantage of the weather by testing out my sample of Madurai from Memo Paris. After wearing it for two days, I’d like to share my impressions. From the moment I applied it, Madurai opens with a strong burst of peach and pear. Interestingly, pear isn’t listed in the fragrance notes, yet I couldn’t shake the impression of it. The fruity aspect is dominant at the start but is quickly accompanied by a floral note within a minute. This combination of fruity and floral creates a beautiful aroma that projects well off the skin. About half an hour in, I noticed a subtle woody undertone emerging, which complemented the fruity florals without overpowering them. This balance continues until around the two-hour mark when the fragrance transitions into a dry down where a musky note asserts itself, taking over the woody base. In the end, you're left with a musky, fruity, and floral scent that lingers throughout the wear. In terms of performance, Madurai impresses with excellent projection during the first couple of hours. While it becomes more intimate at the dry down, it still lingers on the skin; I could still detect it when I got home and got into the shower after work. This makes it a solid pick for a summertime fragrance of these are your type of notes. However, as lovely as it is, this perfume ultimately isn’t for me. The floral-fruity base leans towards femininity, and while I generally enjoy white floral fragrances, the musk and fruit here feel too feminine for my personal taste. In summary, if you’re a fan of fruity florals and enjoy a vibrant, summery scent, Madurai by Memo Paris could be a great addition, just not for me.
