What's the Next Hype...? (Re-up'd)
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya'! So, Holy smokes⌠if the past year taught us anything, itâs that fragrance trends move FAST. One minute weâre talking flankers, the next thing you know every major house drops an âElixirâ and suddenly everything is darker, denser, stronger, louder. Sauvage Elixir, Le Male Elixir, spice bombs, resin bombs! Performance became king and Subtlety quietly packed its bags and left the building. But trends always swing like a pendulum. Now that weâve rolled into the Year of the Dragon, Iâve been thinking⌠whatâs next? Because hype never disappears in this hobby, it just changes clothes. Are we about to see the rise of extrait concentrations becoming the new status symbol? A return to fresh-but-powerful modern aquatics that actually last more than two hours? Maybe the comeback of classic masculinity, barbershop, aromatics, fougères, but reimagined for a younger crowd? Or hereâs my hot take⌠I think we may be heading into the era of texture hype rather than raw strength. Fragrances that feel creamy, airy, mineral, skin-like, or hyper-natural. Less âannounce your presence,â more âpull people closer.â Think scent bubbles instead of scent explosions. And letâs not ignore what social media is doing either. TikTok and Shorts donât just create hype anymore, they accelerate it. A fragrance can go from "unknown" to sold-out legend in about three influencers and a weekend. (Or just Curly, depending on her outfit that day...) What say you, guys? What do YOU think the next wave will be? Extraits? Neo-fresh scents? Gourmands for men continuing to explode? Vintage revivals? Or something totally unexpected? Because one thingâs certain in this hobby⌠The next hype is already brewing, we just havenât smelled it yet. Love to hear from yaâ!
