SOTD: Forever WantedĀ Absolu by AzzaroĀ 19/03/2026
So it's not on official release here, but I seriously doubt the bosses from a certain retain chain are monitoring Skool, so here goes my Initial review of Forever Wanted Absolu. The soon to be released flanker is the latest in the Wanted lineup & a hell of a lot better that it's predessesor despite the similar bottle. Thankfully though the juice is so different. This will be the 10th release in the Wanted line, and it moves away from the bright, fruity sweetness of previous iterations & leans heavily into a boozy, smoky, resinous vibe. There does not seem to be any perfumer credited with the Absolu release, this seems to be a common practice for many of the L'OrĆ©al Luxe releases. Although I have heard a whisper that Quentin Bisch and NadĆØge Le Garlantezec may be behind this one. Both have worked on previous flankers. Despite a simple note pyramid, there is more going on than meets the eye, or in this case nose! It opens with duo of incense. It starts with Frankensence for a sharp, smoky, almost mineral opening. This is the darkest of the Wanted line. As the incense settles, the Whiskey Accord takes center stage. This isn't a harsh alcohol scent. it is smooth, aged & slightly spicy. It adds a grown up character. The base reveals a drydown of Vanilla & Amber Woods. For a creamy, gourmand dry-down that gives some of that signature Wanted DNA but with more weight. But there is more, the notes that don't get a mention but add support to the structure of the fragrance. At the core I get a touch of Lavender & Clary Sage for that Fourgere backbone then in the base there are traces of Cardamon & Cypress. ā Performance wise I'm at about six hrs on skin, but can easily detect in on clothes the. Next day. It projects well for the first 2 hrs before settling into a reasonably good scent bubble. This is perfect for the Cold weather and formal wear. If you enjoyed the OG wanted, but find it to young then this might be for you. I'll be sticking with TMW parfum as the best in line.If you already own it, this may be redundant unless you specifically want a smokier, less sweet version of that scent.
