Good Morning Brotherhood, It’s going to be a scorcher here in Chicago today, so I found myself second-guessing the A.I.’s fragrance choice for me. It leaned a little too heavy, and I was worried it might become cloying in this kind of heat. Then I remembered I have a brand-new bottle of Gin Sling by Aaron Terence Hughes, which my brother @Nick Clemente was kind enough to bring back for me from across the pond a few months ago. Today marks my first full wear. So far, it’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Fresh, effervescent, and subtly boozy—more mojito than gin, to my nose—with a vibrant, zesty spice that I can only assume comes from the ginger. There are certainly fragrances that share a similar DNA, but once again ATH puts his own stamp on it, creating something that feels both mature and energetic. I’ve never had performance issues with this house, though I’m curious to see how it stands up to today’s heat and humidity. Based on my first impressions, Gin Sling is an excellent fragrance. I wouldn’t call it a banger, but it’s absolutely full-bottle worthy. First Impression Rating: 8.5/10 Projection and sillage are both moderate on my skin. I’ll reserve judgment on longevity until later, but I’m expecting somewhere around 5–6 hours. Stay cool, Brothers, and smell amazing today.

I’m a little late on my post considering I wore this Sunday night. Full disclosure I’m a big ADG fan, easily in my top 2 designer lines. I have the 2024 formulations of the EDT, EDP, Parfum, Profondo EDP and Profondo Parfum, all are great to me. So I was inevitably gonna pick this one up. I never had the original Absolu or smelled it, so I can’t compare but reviews have said some similarities. I can’t attest to that one way or the other. What I will say is that to me this is like an ADG super hybrid blend. I pick up the green from the EDP but I also get the marine from the whole line. Along with some citrus in the Profondo Parfum wheelhouse and some smokiness of the Parfum. All in all just a fantastic blend that anyone looking at should grab. It definitely lives up to my saying that the best ADG is the one you’re wearing.

Has anyone else ever accidentally purchased a backup bottle of fragrance? 😁 While looking for a deal on a particular bottle for a friend the other day, I stumbled across a great deal on Elysium by Roja Dove. I thought to myself that it was the lowest price I'd ever seen. I tried it out last year - a travel spray from FragranceNet - and know that I liked it but, more importantly, my wife loved it. So, of course, I immediately ordered a full-size bottle. When it arrived, I immediately opened it, sprayed a little on my arm, and set it on my bathroom counter. I've been wearing it regularly for a couple of weeks now. A few days ago, we cleaned the bathroom - so everything was put away, at least temporarily, for the cleaning. Yesterday, I decided to restock my countertop with my daily necessities and my most-worn summer fragrances. All of a sudden, I noticed that there were two bottles of Elysium sitting on the counter... As it turns out, I had come across almost just as good a deal ($4 more) on Elysium in November, ordered a bottle to have for this summer, and completely forgotten about it! Has anyone else done this?
