Review and SOTD - Ralph’s Club New York
A 2025 EDP, supposedly inspired by NYC nightlife and energy. Overall it’s fresh, sweet, and smooth. It’s versatile and pleasing, easy to wear for office, dates, or casual. It leans modern designer with good mass appeal. The scent profile includes top notes of blackcurrant, mandarin, and bergamot which gives it a fruity opening. In the heart is lavender, sandalwood, and geranium. The base brings bourbon vanilla, fir, and oakmoss that gives it a creamy, warm, slightly sweet drydown. It is similar to MYSLF L’Absolu or Montblanc Legend Elixir. Performance is good. Longevity is solid at 8+ hours and has moderate projection, but high on initial spray. Presentation is great, the bottle is a sleek chrome flask style. It’s also wife approved. A safe buy or safe sample if you’re looking for a versatile, modern daily wearer. Worth trying in store for sure

NICHE vs. DESIGNER — Which Side Are You On?
This is one of the oldest debates in the fragrance world - and opinions run HOT. NICHE FRAGRANCES: Crafted by independent houses obsessed with artistry over mass appeal. Think Amouage, Creed, Serge Lutens. Bold, complex, unapologetically unique. You wear niche and you know no one else in the room is wearing the same thing. But you're paying for the privilege. DESIGNER FRAGRANCES — The Chanels, the Diors, the Tom Fords. Masterfully blended, backed by decades of heritage, and worn by people who know what they're doing. Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel are bestsellers for a reason — they're refined, proven, and never embarrassing. The debate: Is niche fragrance the pinnacle of personal expression — or is it overpriced elitism dressed up as art? And are designer houses underrated gems hiding in plain sight? Tell us: Team Niche or Team Designer? Vote below 👇 — and tell me which house or specific fragrance makes your case? Roast the other camp respectfully — this is a gentleman's debate after all. 😄

My go-to, most-worn, most-complimented fragrances are mostly niche: - Layton by Parfums de Marly - Althair by Parfums de Marly - Bergamask by Orto Parisi - Baraonda by Nasomatto - Halfeti Cedar by Penhaligon's - The Tragedy of Lord George by Penhaligon's - Noir Extreme EDP by Tom Ford - Ebene Fume by Tom Ford - Honor by Mission Fragrances - Char #3 by Elijah Craig - Rockstar by Dua Fragrances (Dupe of Tony Iommi's Monkey Special) However, there are a few designer fragrances that also fit that particular bill: - Man Eau Fraiche by Versace - Chrome Extreme by Azzaro - Eros Energy by Versace - Eros Flame EDP by Versace - Explorer by Mont Blanc - Ralph's Club New York - Stronger With You Intensely/Leather by Armani But since I probably wear niche fragrances twice as often as designer, I have to with Team Niche...
Sam's Club For The Win?
As I was perusing my local Sam's Club today, I noticed a fragrance display table, with a worker offering samples. As I passed by the table, I noticed a familiar bottle - my favorite fragrance. Gentlemen, inside this unassuming bag is a 4.2 oz bottle of Layton by Parfums de Marly- which I obtained for just under $220, before taxes. I bought it because I knew I could easily return it, if I decided it wasn't a good deal. However, after seating for prices after getting home, this is close to $50 I've the best online price I've found! So, maybe don't ignore the fragrance counter at your local discount club?
