Tonight's Experiment...
For tonight's fragrance, I've conducted an experiment. I took an old favorite cologne with subpar performance and mixed it in a 2-to-1 ratio with a blend of Iso-E-Super, Ambroxan, Javanol, Cashmeran Pure Molecule, and Vetiveryl Acetate to boost performance and accentuate my favorite parts of the original fragrance. I let it sit for a couple of days and did an at-home test wear before letting out lose in the wild... Thoughts?

@Antonio Cent Not as well as I'd have liked - but it smelled really nice. I got a couple of compliments in the first hour or so...
Help Me Improve This — Then Grab the Deal Before It Goes Public 😏
Guys — I need your help. I’m getting ready to share this House of Dastan Discovery Set offer publicly, but before I do, I want the Brotherhood of Scent to take a look at these designs and tell me what could be better. The offer is: 1. Get the $300 Discovery Set for $150 with code RMRS150 2. The $150 you spend becomes a $150 credit toward a full-size House of Dastan bottle I’ve attached 3 versions of the graphic. Please help me improve them: Which one explains the deal most clearly? Is anything confusing at first glance? What would you change to make the offer easier to understand? Does the link work for you? Does RMRS150 apply the discount correctly? 👉 http://www.HouseOfDastan.com/RMRS150 And since I’m sharing this with you guys before I share it publicly, feel free to take advantage of the deal now !

Trying out a new moisturizing routine...
So, I had some luck last year with a shower oil, but there was one significant issue - it had a distinct scent of its own. For working from home days, this wasn't a big deal, and I did like the convenience of applying the oil to my body at the end of my shower, letting it sit for a couple of minutes, and then rinsing off the excess. I noticed little difference in my chest, arms, and elbows between this and applying traditional moisturizer after showering. However, because of the scent of the shower oil, I ended up abandoning it after that first supply ran out and going back to the traditional routine. Of course, this also meant that certain parts of my body were getting as much moisturization as they could, since applying lotion is a more tedious process. A few days ago, though, I started a new moisturizing routine... I ordered some organic, fractionated coconut oil off of Amazon to try out as a shower oil. As it turns out, it seems to work just as well as that 'proprietary' shower oil blend - as a full-body moisturizer. However, people weren't kidding about the fragrance benefits. I've noticed a significant improvement in both longevity and projection over the last few days. I'm still, of course, applying an extra layer of face moisturizer to my face as well as body moisturizer with SPF to my head and neck after I shower, but I no longer have to take 15-20 minutes once a week (being generous with how often I actually did it) to apply body moisturizer to my entire body. Instead, I take an extra ≈3 minutes at the end of my shower to apply the fractionated coconut oil and the end result is both improved moisturization for my whole body plus increased fragrance performance. What about you guys? Do you use fractionated coconut oil as a moisturizer, or elsewhere in your fragrance routine?

@Jon Jacobs Not really. By the time I reach my feet, most of what I rubbed on my upper body has been absorbed - at least what is likely to be absorbed. When I finish applying the oil, I just sit on the shower bench for a minute or two before rinsing off. Only the excess - that would have just ended up on my clothes, anyway, had I applied after the shower - gets rinsed off.

Update: This is going to become my new default moisturizer. After a couple weeks of use, I can say that this is both the easiest and most effective moisturizing routine I've ever done. Much of that is because of the ease - as I would often skip days when relying on lotion because of the time and potential mess involved. This routine adds less than five minutes to my shower and seems like it will all but eliminate the need for lotion. I do still apply a moisturizing lotion to my face, head, and neck daily - and to my arms and legs on days they'll be exposed - but that's primarily for the SPF. The reason this works so well is because of how the skin works. While washing the dirt and grime off our skin, we are also washing away the oils that protect our skin. Additionally, the hot water opens our pores - allowing for a more thorough cleaning but drying out our skin even more. Applying this oil in the shower, while those pores are still open, results in instant rehydration. I rinse, bathe, rinse, apply the oil, rinse, and towel dry. Even after towelling off, my skin still feels silky - and that lasts all day. Finally, the ancillary benefit - fragrance... My wife is very scentsitive - pun intended. She's more likely to complain about a fragrance - almost any fragrance - than to say something positive about it. (She's very much in Antonio's camp that a fragrance should be discovered rather than announced.) However, last night was the third time - with three different fragrances, after hours of wear - that my wife asked me, as I climbed onto bed, if I had sprayed more fragrance on myself before coming to bed. This has absolutely had a noticeable, positive effect on both longevity and projection for a variety of fragrances for me. Color me impressed...
