sotd Happyland Diabolique
I don't think this one has been talked about much yet, so I'll share my first impressions. I was off work today, so I wanted to give Diabolique a good first wear. I gave it 4 solid (decant size) sprays on each arm, just below the elbow, and tracked it as I hung around the house. I'm not sure where the name originates, because there's nothing diabolical or devilish about this fragrance 😄! It opens fruity, floral and woody. In 30 min the dominant fruit note has already receded into the blend, and is joined by black pepper, sandalwood, some background florals, warm spice and a little bit of rum. The smell is beautiful, and relatively mild, with a 1.5 foot scent bubble. Some caramel sweetness gradually appears, and it seems to be morphing towards the darker end of the spectrum, but the scent profile keeps moving. At 90 min it is a little more airy and a touch brighter from the fruit. At 2.5 hrs, sillage has become steadily mild and the scent has settled into a medium tone, fruity, woody, with some light spice and a hint of almond. After 4 hours it is very close to the skin, which will modulate with temperature, activity level, etc. Diabolique is a very nice, casual, relaxation, date night, semi-gourmand type of fragrance. Not dark or heavy, it may do well in spring type of weather, or anytime inside. The website blurb indicates it was designed with Autumn in mind. I'll enjoy future wears, and it doesn't mimic anything else I've seen.

Thoughts and Recommendations on Zarahoff
So I had never given to the hype on this house and never tried it. I did let someone I trust further influence me not to try it. But recently I got a fantastic deal on the second hand market and the fragrance I got I really like it. The lesson I learned in that though I heavily respect an opinion I have to always think for myself and try things even though others may be critical or not like it. So brothers and sisters let me hear your thoughts and recommendations on this house. So Far I have Seamless Soul.

decided to make use of my new samples from dior’s privee collection, and on a hot, sunny sunday ultimately went with Eden-Roc. it was definitely careful thought and consideration that went into this. opening notes? i wasn’t sure. and then… it started to grow on me. i just wasn’t sure. i wasn’t sure about it on the strip in the store, and now on my skin? completely different story the opening is salty, fresh, citrusy and very mineral dominant with some fresh florals poking through from the base. it’s a salty ocean breeze in a bottle, but the drydown phase is when it started to grow on me. the heart notes are jasmine, coconut, and mastic resin. the coconut is more of a very slight accent, as it adds a sweetened, smooth bridge between the sharp bright florals and the earthiness of the mastic resin. the base notes are pine and labdanum. very fleeting but noticeable. i’ve always been iffy about pine scents, mainly because i find them harsh and medicinal when done poorly, but kept as a fresher, green accent notes, it’s actually quite nice and adds to the visuals of this scent, like an ocean breeze whistling through pine trees on top of white sea cliffs on a bright sunny day. performance is impossible to note. tiny sample sprayers are notoriously difficult to pinpoint performance because of how little they actually offer. projection was pretty solid on my skin for such a small amount. longevity around 5 hours. however i’d need to test a real bottle to fully grasp this. so my honest thoughts? i really love this. i could see this to be a fantastic layer with my favorite summer scent, neroli portofino as to add a saltier, woodier base to the sharp florals and hopefully increase longevity. had mixed feelings first, but i love salty, ocean floral scents like this one. definitely plan to get a larger decant now and see how it REALLY performs. have a blessed day yall
