SOTD: L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme Wood & Wood by Issey Miyake
This 2019 release is another step away from the airy, citrus-aquatic DNA that Issey Miyake is known for. This so called edp intense is claimed to bottle the strength of wood? Maybe so, after it's run through a wood chipper perhaps. Off the bat, although it's a cheap affordable option at under €30, save your money for something else. Sadly all you get is a typical Ambroxan laced shower gel scent and not the good kind like say Dylan Blue. The notes claim Grapefruit, Cardamom and elemi at the top with Apricot, Ambroxan, Virginian Cedar and Sandalwood in the mid range. The base notes are said to be Woody Notes, Haitian Vetiver & Patchouli. What a load of oul rubbish. Ok there is a touch of grapefruit & citrus on the opening, but after that disappears which is rather fast, your left with just a shower gel soapy scent. And thats fine if your into that sort of thing, but the name is down tight misleading. Lets just say, this is one fragrance that will mot be getting replaced, ever. Performance, you will be lucky to break past the 90m mark, it turns into a skin scent after 30m. I have air freshners that last longer than this. I wouldn't even gift this it's so poor.
