This one has one of those slightly frustrating three note breakdowns, lemon coffee and vetiver that doesn't really do it justice. There's definitely the sweetness spiciness so vanilla for sure. It reminds me of an old green sweater I had when I was a younger, slightly ill fitting, but comforting. While this isn't the most popular flanker of the line, it's definitely worth checking out, not least because I have a nostalgic connection as it was one of the very first scents I was curious about based on a recommendation from Antonio when I first discovered his channel. Like the title says, I went to smell (and buy) some fragrances today. Despite the awful weather, we were dying to check if any of the new releases had arrived in store. Luckily, one of them was there: Scandal Elixir. Let me tell you… this one is AMAZING. It delivers one of the most realistic sweet, moist cherry pie notes I’ve ever smelled. There’s simply nothing else like it on the market right now. If you love cherry in any type of pastry - which I absolutely do - then you’ll adore this. A strong 8.4/10 from me. That said, I personally wanted to hold off for the new Powerfully by Armani, which also has a cherry note. This way I can compare the two side by side and walk home with the clear winner. Still craving a new fragrance, I headed to another store and blind-bought Coral Fantasy. Even though I’d smelled it a year ago, I didn’t quite remember the exact vibe, so I took the gamble… and man did it pay off. Coral Fantasy by Valentino is a lovely, fruity tobacco leaf scent that’s almost enchanting. It’s nothing like the ground-up tobacco you get in SWY Tobacco or Spicebomb Infrared. Instead, you get that beautiful dry tobacco leaf paired with a not-so subtle Earl Grey tea vibe. It’s truly one of a kind and, in my opinion, the best in the line (with Ivory coming in a very close second). I’d rate it a solid 8.2/10.
