SOTD: Xerjoff Erba Gold
Heating up here in Denver so I opted for the fruity blast I get from the opening of Erba Gold. I love the citrus burst I get with opening with just a hint of ginger to spice it up. So, I’m curious, for those who have tried both Erba Pura and Erba Gold, which do you prefer?

SOTD: Ultra Male by Jean Paul Gaultier
I love this Amber Fougere, an intensified evolution of the original Le Male. It was released in 2015,to celebrate the 20th anniversary of it's predessesor. I'm not a fan of this guy considering what he did with the eau forte version of Sauvage, but gotta give credit, Francis Kurkdjian played a blinder with this one. While its predecessor was a versatile, aromatic barbershop staple, Ultra Male was intentionally designed to be bolder, sweeter more hedonistic. As with the entire line it comes in that unmistakable torso bottle. signaling a shift toward a more nocturnal and aggressive scent profile. The scent’s composition is a playful contrast of notes, evolving through three distinct stages of sweetness & spice. It opens with a bubblegum burst, led by a heavy, juicy pear note &zesty bergamot, which is balanced by a cool, refreshing touch of mint and a black lavender that feels darker than the traditional floral variety. As the fragrance transitions into the heart, the fruity brightness subsides to reveal a warm, spicy core of cinnamon, clary sage & caraway for a slightly carnal, aromatic depth. The dry down is where Ultra Male truly settles into its famous identity, dominated by a rich, creamy black vanilla husk, anchored with amber, cedar & just a hint of patchouli, creating a dense, sugary-woody trail. Ultra Male is a good performer for an edt, I get an easy yhrs on skin, can still get a hint of it the following day of my clothes. The projection is very strong, especially for the first 2 hours. It creates a noticeable scent bubble. Excellent for Fall/Winter due to its warmth, spice, and intensity. A solid night wear, would work in the club or any social event. It seems to be marketed towards the younger audience, but dont let that put you off. I'm almost 50 and still enjoy the entire line. My Rating: 7.5/10 Scent:2.5 Longevity:2 Sillage:2 Y/N:1

They broke the mold with the original LB, an almost perfect clone of my favourite PDM Althair. So I guess it's no supriss that in 2026 fragrance World would try and cash in on this remarkable success like all the designer houses do with their various flankers. So I guess the million dollar question to ask? Is it any good? It's claimed to be a structural overhaul, with a change from parfum to extrait territory and It comes in a larger 150ml bottle. Straight off the bat, I'm still getting that gorgeous LB vibe, perhaps not as gormand as the og. That sugary sweetness has been toned down a touch, but you won't mistake it for something else that's for sure. It opens with Cardamon, a zesty citrus & lavender. The Limited Edition replaces the spice rack vibe of the OG with a crisp, aromatic lavender and fresh citrus, making it feel more refined and less like a dessert. At the core, Orange Blossom, Rose, Guaiac Wood. The heart is floral yet smoky. The addition of Rose adds a jammy richness, while Guaiac Wood adds a dark, woody backbone. The base contains, Bourbon Vanilla, Amber, Tonka Bean & Oakmoss. Giving a dense & resinous dry down. The Oakmoss is the standout change here, giving the vanilla a grounded, slightly earthy finish. As an extrait it performs quite well, I'm still catching glimpses after a full 10hr day. Go easy on the trigger 2 to 4 sprays are enough to fill a room for the first 4 hrs. After which it forms a dense scent bubble to carry you through the day. This is still a flanker, but a bamn good one, it smell identical initially, but give it time on your skin to appreciate the differences, it's a smotter more refined fragrance, leans more niche than budget clone for me. Whilst the OG was for lovers of pure, sweet gourmands and heavy cinnamon. The LE is for power users who want more complexity. If you want a nuclear-performing winter fragrance that smells expensive and lasts all day, this is worth a try
