Uh oh - Board meeting week...
📅 Daily Check-in - July 13, 2026 💭 Reflection: "What a long day. It's board meeting week and I have to get the board papers out. It's meant to be out today but that didn't happen. Instead I went out with Mum to get some handles for the shower for Dad. We had a cuppa while out and discussed the situation with Dad. I think what made matters worse was the fact that he's terminal and he can't get in to see his doctor until 19 August. Tomorrow we're phoning their urgent care line as his doctor is on and hopefully we'll get to talk to him over the phone. In the meantime, I did do some work towards the board papers, took the dogs out, washed the rabbit, played with the boys, sorted accommodation in Auckland Thursday night as my eldest has a 2-day training camp for the Northern Rangers team going to Queensland, Australia. Fish tank is still cloudy but it has cleared quite a bit today - it's just bacterial bloom with a new tank. So have a great Monday everyone. 📅 Daily Check-in - July 15, 2026 💭 Reflection: "What an exhausting day that started with a 3:30am wake up. for Jim's live Q&A which definitely was interesting. Then after getting all the inside and outside animals done, washing machine fixed so it hopefully doesn't flood again, washing done, hung out, 2 loads folded, and a much needed cuppa with Mum and Dad. Precious moments that I've got to hang onto. Then I went headlong into the Board papers and completed a 5 hour stint (originally it was going to be 45 mins to start with). Then I did another hour tonight to finish it up. Missed a couple of reports but when they come in I'll redo the agenda and attached the 2027 budget as well. No spiralling at all today. Even washed/brushed/blow dried the rabbit. I'm half packed for tomorrow as the boys and I head down to Auckland for my eldest's Gold Coast football training camp. Staying with a friend who's kindly put us up at short notice. The boys are super excited just as much as I'm super tired. So I'll bid you all goodnight and close Wednesday off. Feelings!!!!
Today I was really tired and just struggled along. I got a few things done, but then got aggravated after trying to figure out health insurance. After that, I just didn’t want to do anything else and so I didn’t. Now I feel down because I wasn’t productive. Now I’m scrolling on my phone trying to make myself feel better instead of following a protocol that I haven’t really setup yet. Any advice for how to avoid letting myself get so down on myself? I appreciate you all!!
