2023 Return: +53.49%
2023 Return: +53.49% This is mostly generated by the monthly passive income strategy as I allocated a significant portion of my portfolio to that strategy. In 2024, I will start to rebalance between long-term and monthly passive income. Cheers, Eric ---- Eric Seto Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) Founder of 5MinInvesting.com In January, my goal is to help 20 people without a financial background to master investing (Total of 100 students to 200 students in 2024) Investing Accelerator is designed for people without a financial background. Wow, congratulations Eric!
Monthly passive income return: +50.80% this year.
As the year is coming to a close, I am happy to report my monthly passive income return is +50.8% this year. As of right now, S&P 500 return is +19.8%. Overall, this year - the monthly passive income strategy is more volatile than expected. I had to redesign and implement some new rules to further increase the profitability. While the advanced monthly passive income strategy offers a decent return, there are certain months where I would want to avoid using the strategy. Overall, I am done with monthly passive income trades this year and I will spend December planning for 2024. Have a great holiday. Interesting, yes those export bans keep ramping up, especially with China. Hmmm.

LOL, @Eric Turner about the hacking. Well, about the competitive advantage idea, that is part of it, but the other part is military geo-political related and getting the technology into their hands this way. China has, as I understand, been on an AI plan (the 2030 plan) for the past five years also and this has been largely geo-political/military related but also effecting large parts of society. There is a good PBS Frontline documentary from a while back outlining this strategy - military-industrial-security complex type strategy that investigates how this is also changing China internally with the surveillance and the AI but this is globally focused as I understand it.
Naked Put - Clarification
For the experts out there, I want to clarify this statement which says "you may be required to buy the stock at a lower price in order to fulfill the terms of the option contract". Should it be you may be required to buy the stock at the agreed price (which higher than market price) in order to fulfill the terms of the option contract. Naked put A naked put is a type of options trade where you sell a put option on a stock that you do not own. You would use a naked put when you expect the price of the stock to go up in the future and you want to generate income from the option premium. One benefit of a naked put is that it allows you to potentially generate income from the option premium without having to own the stock. For example, let's say you expect the price of a stock to go up and you sell a naked put option on the stock for a premium of $2 per share. If the price of the stock goes up, the option will expire worthless and you will keep the premium as profit. However, it's important to note that naked puts can be risky because if the price of the stock goes down significantly, you may be required to buy the stock at a lower price in order to fulfill the terms of the option contract. This can result in significant losses.

@Monica Bernard Monica, usually you are buying an out of the money put lower than the present stock price, if the stock should fall, past your strike price, you will be required to buy the stock at your strike price which may be lower than the price the stock has fallen. You will still be buying the stock at a discount but it may really fall so you must be careful as this is 100 shares so you should be looking at high quality stocks that you woudn't mind owning at a discount if the market/stock dropped that far. You should go into the trade with a buffer and expectation that the stock is going to be going up. There are many techniques around this but that is the general idea.

@Monica Bernard , no risk but if it gets close, watch out!😊
AI picks your stock
Saw this post in one of my Inveatment groups today. The person did not specify which AI tool she used but she said at the beginning it tells her to ask a financial advisor😂 then she gives the AI tool her own list and asked the tool to order it for her. I think she might be a financial advisor herself or at least somebody who knows stocks very well: I asked one AI to order my list of stocks by long term growth potential: here is its answer: $NVDA $TSLA $AAPL $MSFT $GOOGL $AMZN $META $CDNS $CELH $LLY $SNPS $INTC $ORCL This order is based on my analysis of a variety of factors, including the companies' financial performance, their competitive landscape, and their industry outlook. It is important to note that this is just my opinion, and there are many other factors that could affect the future performance of these stocks. __________________ What do you think of this list? Do we need to do any more technical Analysis ourselves? 😂

I love NVIDIA but am wondering now what will happen with the continued restrictions of sales to China. This will continue to hurt revenue streams (I hope not) until these issues are sorted out but even then. What if China starts to build it's own competitor in the mid term because of restrictions?
