My very late intro
I realized I never introduced myself when I joined this group about a month ago. My name is Katana and I am from Pennsylvania but live in the Dominican Republic doing volunteer work. My main goals are to lose another 20-30lbs (want back in my size 6), break the plateau I have been in for a while (need help), and get more sleep ( I am a night owl).

Blessed and Thankful
3 miles on the sand this morning. I'm so happy to be back home on the island. I'm grateful for this community and focused on achieving my goals this year! Nothing can stop us from getting what we want. We just have to stay focused and push through. Have a great weekend! Get outside and get some steps in today! 🙏🏽🤙🏽👊🏽

🟢 Pro-Tip: ask for the bread LAST 🍞
Instead of saying ‘no’ to the delicious free bed at the start of the meal, this is what my daughter and I do: 👉 Simply ask for the bread after the main course is finished. You ate the protein. You ate the vegetables. You drank some water. You shared the pasta. You are WAY more likely to say no to the bread or more naturally inclined to eat less of it. Both ways will help you manage your calories better at social meals. It’s also a smart way to ensure your kids don’t fill up on bread before they get to the higher-quality foods. ‼️ REMEMBER: Your toddler’s stomach is the size of their own fist… it’s not that big! Few things I have tried, sometimes successfully lol. Eat my normal breakfast with high protein to ensure I get it in. Look at menu before going out so I can make a better decision. Pick one-appetizer, drink, or dessert-but only if I really want it. I find all of this more challenging if going to someone’s house and not a restaurant. This weekend unsuccessful but back on track today. Eating my protein overnight oats as I type this.
Mealprep
Did my mealprep for almost the whole week. Will do another one on Wednesday for Thursday an Friday. Mealprep helps me a lot to stay on track with my food.

I’m not much of a chef 👨‍🍳
But I can utilize an air fryer pretty well 😆 What was on the menu: 👉 Air-fried wild Alaskan salmon (air-fried) 👉 Elk tomahawk (cooked in air fryer, seared on pan to finish) 👉 Pasture-finished ribeye 👉 An amazing vegetable called Onion Flower stems (only had them in Thailand, a sweet and flavorful leafy green 🤙), stir fried with red peppers. 👉 Rice and finished with fruit NOTE: you don’t need to go this high-quality for protein. The micronutrient profiles between grassfed and conventional sources aren’t significantly different. Just eat more protein and veggies 👍 Would you eat this?
