WALKING BACKWARD
If you noticed during the Nov 1 workshop, Sonny started the session by asking the group to walk backward. Walking backward is a traditional practice in China n a common warm-up exercise in Qigong n Tai Chi. We usually walk backward for about 5 minutes before starting the standing session. While forward walking is hamstring dominant, backward walking strengthens the muscles that are often underused like rhe glutes. It also stimulates Qi flow, improve balance n posture and reduced joint pain. Steps should be taken with TOES touching DOWN first, then the HILL, which is the opposite of forward walking. Make sure you practice in a CLEAR OPEN SPACE. TRY IT……YOU MIGHT LIKE IT!!!!!

I'll have to start practicing this at work.
Possibly Addicted
I just finished Day 6 and I think I might be addicted. No day is complete without hearing Sonny's voice during practice. And I'm feeling so much different already!
Day 1 Thoughts
I have completed the Day 1 video, treated the joints that are angered, and browsed the community posts. And after all of that I'm excited! I'm excited to be part of a community that supports and encourages. I'm excited because of the message in the Movement Tutorial that says it's ok to start wherever you are. And I'm excited about this path that I believe will restore both my mental and physical well-being.

Good afternoon, My name is Josh. I currently lived in Martinsburg WV and work in the DC metro area. Over the past few years my weight has increased while my mobility decreased. Then, during the government shutdown, I started finding videos on YouTube described as Tai Chi for beginners. As I began following along, I found that my energy levels are improving. Now I'm joining your community for additional support on this journey.
