I have feelings. But also, I should be asleep. Be back in about 8 hours with thoughts and feelings for this episode
I am so weird . . . ๐Ÿ˜‚
So for some context today I went for my morning walk that I do before work. It started out calm ๐Ÿ˜Œ and collected. Nice pace you know not wanting to compete with anyone else on the track. But all that changed when this one couple joined. Every time they join they always keep passing me with an annoying little jog. But not today baby. Today my fighter spirit ignited and I didnโ€™t stop. I started running 1/4 of the track walking 1/4 of the track running 1/4 of the track and walking 1/4 of the track. Over and over and over. I told myself they would not pass me today and they didnโ€™t. I actually passed them and it was a good feeling lol. Iโ€™m sure they were not competing with me but I was in a way with myself. I was sure I would not be able to keep it up but to my surprise ๐Ÿ˜ณ I did it for the full hour. I even sprinted the last run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ before I left. Just for fun. Iโ€™m amazed what I can do now.

Hahahah good job!
Routine and consistency
Hey beautiful people , so this is my accountability post โ€ฆ.. I havenโ€™t done a whole lot with my goals these past couple weeks I have weighted myself but not everyday I find it really difficult to add it in the morning ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ ๐Ÿซ  Havenโ€™t tracked a think at all And have moved my body a bit but havenโ€™t done an official workout โญ๏ธI did do a food sensitivity test and got my results and have been researching food that triggers stuff but I havenโ€™t been very practical and physical So my question is how do u split ur time is it up earlier , habit stacking, time blocking ect ๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

These are what's working for me. Habit stacking: 1) my weight scale is right in front of the dresser so I step on it before grabbing my clothes for the day. Some days I still forget, but I get back to it the next day. 2) water bottle is on my immediate right at the desk so I'll see it and remember to drink. More water = more toilet break = a bit more steps. Food: If it's hard to track then perfect plate rule applies: 1/2 protein, 1/4 carbs, 1/4 vegetables - keeping the deep fried variety to a minimum. Exercise: Training/class times are fixed and locked. Those are blocked on my calendar - non-negotiable. In any circumstance it cancels, then I still do a simple workout because the time is already allocated for exercise, I might as well use it as intended. Hope this will give you some ideas. Choose one thing that you super want to do and start from there. You can do it!
Recovery is real (it is the pits, but important)
Imaging you are hitting your nutrition goals, getting in your protein, hitting your fiber, getting in fruits and vegetables, staying in a calorie deficit, learing new recipes to hone in nutrition. Losing weight and reaching new goals. You are also getting in your strength training, hitting new PRs, flexibility, hitting step goals, and feeling stronger. Starting to work on life balance and .... BAM... you hit a detour. It could be an injury, illness, or another thing that may sidetrack you. I was pushing too hard and my body let me know this. I had to step back and was on a clear liquid diet, now bland foods, starting to get protein back in, will have to slowly rebuild fiber and my diet. It is ok, it is necessary to heal. (ok, being honest, I still hate it, but learning how to navigate this). I had to stop lifting, allow my body to rest, walk as tolerated, and slowly rebuild my activity. I am also prioritizing sleep, rest, work balance, and life balance. Setting limits and starting to say "no". This was not in my plan. Being a perfectionist, I want to keep moving forwad and keep reaching my goals. It is also in my nature to try to make my coaches proud. But, life is teaching me balance and that I need to be smart and listen to my body. OLD ME: I would feel like a failure, would be stressed, would push through, would push so hard until I crashed and burned. NEW ME: Reframe this as a detour. Hopefully with grace. Take a moment and step back. Allow myself the time to heal properly. This is not a failure, but a chance to rest, recover, and reevaluate any necessary changes. I am not losing. I am evolving, learning, and becoming more successful allowing myself to recover when necessary. There will be times to recover and I will learn how to navigate these times. I cannot go full out all the time. (Dang it anyway ๐Ÿ˜…). Guess I have to be human. ๐Ÿ˜… So, moral of the story, there will be times to Recover. This is a life long process. And it is ok. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ’—

I get the feeling. I've had my share of injuries from dragon boat; my chiropractor called it "occupational injury". And at the time, it was so bad that I was told to take it gently for at least 2 weeks - frustrating. Plus, my team had a major race in less than 2 months - my worry and anxiety went through the roof. But I listened to advice. Dialed it down - but kept my fitness up however I could, came back stronger, and brought home a medal. The human body is an amazing thing - listen to it, have patience, and it will return you the best results. You're doing amazing!

โ€œYouโ€™re Darren, the fitness guy!โ€ Man, Iโ€™ll never get bored of it, and itโ€™ll always mean a lot to get stopped in public. The cool part is that it happened at Taipei airport! โ˜บ๏ธ We got people to inspire! Any food recommendations in Taipei??? PS Iโ€™m here to do a solo Hyrox race ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ’ช
