Full Introduction:
Hi, I realised I'd missed some of the Introduction information, so I'm catching up and filling in some gaps! My name is Beth, I’m from Auckland, New Zealand (Tamaki Makaurau, Aotearoa), and I work as a therapist, clinical supervisor, and group trainer /facilitator. I have experience with cults, coercive control, fundamentalism, religious and spiritual trauma; You can ask me questions about: - Cults and cult recovery - Dissociation - Costuming and LARP (Live-Action Role-playing) - Alternative spirituality I want to get these things from ADHD Harmony: 1. A clearer idea of what is going on for me, and what might be specifically attributed to ADHD 2. Feel supported and acknowledged (as it's felt a tough and isolating journey so far) 3. Get inspired and feel more confidence to take steps to address my problems 4. Learn some valuable insights and techniques to make my life work better. For fun, I like to: 1. Spend time in my garden (along with birds, local cats, insects etc) 2. Make costumes and attend costumed events (LARP, Steampunk, Regency, 3. Perform (I sing in a choir, entertain kids in character, run an annual Wuthering Heights flashmob...) 4. Dancing, especially ceilidhs Share a picture: My family, gathering for my mum's 92nd bithday.

@Richard Russell Interesting. Those religious / spiritual paths that are all about endless 'striving' can be pretty exhausting, and can also be tough on the sense of Self / self esteem stuff too.

Day 4 Done
•Day 4 ✅ Done! •📊 My lowest Harmony dimension: Physical Fitness and Wellbeing •🌙 Wind-down pattern I noticed: Even though I had drafted a "Evening Habit" - (as a result of learnings I have been doing with Mel Robbins) - the best intentions get sidetracked - that Black Box of Doom, or Phone for Doom Scrolling - I am giving my life away to it, and what a waste. My current Evening Habit is TV and Binge Watch, Fall Asleep at TV, Go to Bed (Scroll until drowsy), Play 30 minutes sleep music. I have updated my Evening Habit - see attached file - for how My Brain operates, I find these reminders on a printout at home, to be helpful - It is a visual reminder. I am away for a week staying at a friend, but on return next Tuesday 19th - I will do the Evening and Morning Habit for 5 days - and see how it improves my life and gives me a sense of wellbeing and accomplishment. •🌅 Morning pattern I noticed: Again - best intentions, but that "Black Box of Doom" - we need a divorce. I have updated my Morning Habit - to get more out of my day (i have been wasting 2.5 to 3 hours of time, with doing things that give me a short burst of Dopamine, but not a major or long lasting Dopamine hit - I am hoping that my new medication for my ADHD will also assist. But this morning - I tackled it differently, and that felt awesome - a bit of fresh air with some garden time, a bit of craft, H2O, and a Podcast - no Screen time (yay) •🔁 I decided to close my open loop: because - it would give me joy, and also complete the Mosaic Torso sales for the benefit of Womens Refuge Fundraising. •💭 And it made me feel: Valued, Generous, Kind and Proud of helping others 🤯 What surprised me: My morning change, made me feel less guilty and bad about not having achieved my Evening Habit, so if I "imagine" being successful for five days of "Fab Evening and Morning Routines" - I can start to believe that I can be consistent. A big Shout out to @Beth St Claire - for reminding me of the joy that some early morning garden time can give me.

⚖️ Belief holding me back: "I'm so dumb" 📍 Where it came from: interpreting my ADHD brain as its missing deadlines, forgetting things, "not living up to my potential". Especially as a kid for assignments, having the best intentions. ✨ My new code: "My brain thrives on Connection" 🔮 My Future Self statement: "I'm the kind of person who knows what fuel I need to be capable" 💪

Nice. That 'thriving on connection' seems a really useful insight. Are you finding this network in any way is helping for that?

Day 3 ✅ Done! ⚖️ The belief that's been holding me back most: "What a loser, you can't even focus." "You're lazy or you just don't care enough." "You let other people down.", "You are inconsistent, and you can't finish what you started" 📍 Where it came from: Messaging predominantly from school, with comparisons to my sister - which was later endorsed with school reports and my mother restating all the messages in school reports - it did not help that I had a hearing impediment and dislexia, that was not picked up till quite late - but we got there in the end. ✨ My new code: "I focus deeply on what matters. I manage my energy with intention and choose where I invest myself. I show up with integrity, work in rhythms that suit my nature, and sustain commitments when my heart is engaged. I think creatively, act with intelligence, and bring devotion, depth, and real contribution to what I do." 🔮 My Future Self statement: "I am the kind of person who who listens to her own truth, chooses herself with kindness, and gives her energy to what feels right. I move at my own pace, trust my heart, and stay connected to who I am becoming. I allow myself to grow without pressure, love without shrinking, and live in a way that feels honest and whole.[identity statement]" 💪 Debugging in progress... Transformation underway

Lovely intro! I love the Future Self message, espeacially "who listens to her own truth, chooses herself with kindness, and gives her energy to what feels right" (and I like the Transformer! :) )
