Unexpected Hurdles and Our Resliency Superpower.

Long post ahead- in a nutshell - we 3rd Act women can rely on our resiliency, even if it doesn't feel like it at the time.

Hi friends,

Aas you know I am embarking on a pretty incredible year-long nomadic journey where I'm going to be house and pet sitting across the country. I recently gave up my apartment lease, sold most of my belongings, put the rest in storage, and have already started. I had my first month-long sit in New Hampshire, which went really well.

From there I came back to my hometown to finalize vacating my apartment. I'm currently staying with a girlfriend in St. Louis, my hometown, preparing to go on this kind of year-long nomadic journey.

I had already orgaznized my next month-long sitting gig in Tampa, Florida for the month of July.

Then boom - the phone rang this morning at 2:30AM (which is never good news). It's my mother who lives in Florida. She's fine (not hurt or sick). She's at home, but her caregiver 'has left her'. I'm getting varied stories and I'm not clear on exactly what is going on, but those are the details I have.

All of that to say this is an unexpected hurdle.

I may need to head to Florida sooner rather than later. I'm telling you the universe works in mysterious ways. I was heading to the area in July and now may need to go earlier to see about my mother. Then, after my July housesitting gig.... I'm just not sure if I'll need to stay in the area or not.

I just want to say that in this 3rd Act unexpected hurdles happen. Of course, you know this.

But, I want to say - we're incredibly resilient as 3rd Act women.

Yes, we get thrown some pretty serious loops, but we can rely on ourselves. We have so much life experience navigating and mitigating hard things.

When hurdles happen we can trust ourselves to figure things out, process what needs to be processed and rebound more quickly.

Resiliency is our super power.

I just want to say that about us.
