The Path of Becoming
I came across this post recently (see below) that really landed for me. It said, “You think becoming your best self will feel powerful. It won’t. It’ll feel like dying.” That line hit like a truth I’ve been living.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve been actively working on releasing what no longer serves me and reconnecting with my authentic self. To say it’s been challenging would be an understatement. The deeper I go, the more the universe seems to test me—through hardship, emotional turbulence, and old wounds I thought I had already healed.
This week especially, I’ve felt creatively inert and completely dispirited. It’s like a tug-of-war between who I was and who I’m becoming. And if I’m honest, it often feels more like breaking down than breaking through.
But that post reminded me of something important: growth is rarely graceful. Transformation isn’t smooth or easy—it’s messy, painful, and often disorienting. The road can get lonelier and more treacherous the closer you get to your own truth.
But that’s also how you know it’s working. You’re not going backwards—you’re shedding. You’re dismantling the false comfort of who you were in order to make space for who you could be. And that’s the real work.
So if you’re in that space too—raw, tired, unsure—know that you’re not alone. The discomfort doesn’t mean you’re off track. It means you’re right in the thick of it. Stay strong! 🙌✨
