Hey folx! Sorry I've been absent for a while. I missed the last couple accountability calls because my wound clinic appointment didn't end in time. Then all last week, we had a HUGE heatwave (upper 90s to 101F with the heat index over 110) and anyone with an SCI knows regulating your body temp can be a struggle. Not having air conditioning along with the sustained high temps, I was miserable and trust me, you wouldn't have wanted me on those calls cuz I was bitchy!!!! My home nurse comes 2 days a week and keeps scheduling me for 11am ESDT so I have to miss several workouts. Although I'm happy to report that my post-surgical PT evaluation went well and she said I am already doing all the right stretches and loves that I'm part of this group so she didn't feel like I needed to continue! I can't make the next 2 workouts, but I can make Thursday's!!! See you all soon!

Does everyone know that July is Disability Pride Month in Canada and the USA? It seems to be misunderstood by many people, and I don’t profess to be able to articulate it the best. So I will quote others who are more learned than I. It honours the strength, achievements, and diversity of the disabled community while fighting the stigma of ableism. The “Wheel With Me Foundation” an organization of which I have watched several presentations, describes it as “It is our opportunity to commemorate the history, achievements, experiences, and struggles of the disability community.”

My eldest daughter forgot to tell me she was in Croatia with her cheer squad last month. Just wished me "happy fathers day and she was at a cheer comp'. So proud of her Ella Louise, bottom row, blonde, crop top. She has been with them since they started and now one of there head coaches ❤️.
