Have you ever had a group of people online sing happy birthday to you? I hadn't either - until this morning. Not only was it hilarious (the lag time was the icing on the cake!), but it made me smile so hard my cheeks actually hurt. Thank you so much to everyone who was kind enough to play along, and thank you to @Jennifer Silbert for being a champion cheerleader! In addition to this feat of excellence, the session started off with some important CLASSIFIEDS updates and introductions to 13 incredible people/communities in the CLASSIFIEDS. I am continually blown away by the caliber of the members in this group and the warm, supportive, collaborative spirit! There's just something about having emojis blown at you while you are talking that really buoys you up! Ever wonder how you can let people know about your Skool community? Feel like you have so much to offer but don't know how to get people involved? Wish there was somewhere you were actually allowed to promote yourself and talk about your offer? Look no further! The Skool Classifieds are the place where you are not only allowed to promote yourself, but you are actually encouraged to do so! Like the Classifieds section of your local newspaper or the Community Message Board at the gym, this is the place to let people know what you do and what you offer. Here's how it works: 1. Invite other Skoolers you know to join the group using your invite link. The more people join, the more people there are to promote to! 2. You can post once a day only. This is to keep the group from getting spammy. If it's spammy, people won't read and you won't get noticed. Post as many days in a row as you want, but please do not post the same thing day after day - mix it up! 3. Make sure you add your post to the appropriate group/heading. Please see below for a description of what each group is for. If you don't see a group that is appropriate, message me. 4. How does your ideal client avatar communicate?
And does your marketing speak to them accordingly? I used to market to myself šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø That means: • snappy directives • short, fast sentences • bold takes + strong opinions • ā€œjust do the damn thingā€ energy • zero patience for nuance Cool for me. Not so great if your ideal client isn’t wired like that – or makes decisions differently. 2 things I wish I'd known sooner: • not everyone thinks like me (shocker!) • people like me can be pain-in-the-butt clients (another shocker!) Why? I like to go fast, talk fast, skip to the end. I don't like long-winded explanations, I'm opinionated AF, impatient, and have a REALLY high bar. It can be like butting heads with a bull (I'm a Taurus, so that's appropriate LOL) – but not everyone enjoys or welcomes that kind of sparring. And…. Not everyone decides fast. Not everyone wants to skip to the end. Not everyone barrels through obstacles. Some people want: • context • reassurance • collaboration • proof + data • time to process šŸ‘‰ This is where DiSC completely changes the game. When you understand how your ICA naturally communicates, you stop forcing content that sounds good in your own head… and start creating content that actually lands in theirs. I'm a D on the DiSC... which is actually the rarest type. No wonder my content was alienating large swaths of potential customers! šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø Once I learned the languages others "speak" .... BOOM!
